Well when I tried using WMP with W800i, it picked it up as removable disk, but when transferring the songs it converted them to WMA format. So they were on the memory stick but of course didn't register on the phone.

this works with WMP10 and 11beta. i highly recommend getting 11 as it does have some additional features
under the devices tab in the options menu unckeck the convert function, that will resolve the mp3-wma conversion
on wmp11 only you have the option to shuffle a random playlist onto the device. this removes all songs already on the device and replaces them with the new ones. it does not remove any other data on the device. this is my preferred method as i like a random mix. you can also customize your own playlists/autoplaylists to sync.
this phone wiht wmp11 is the poo. i love it

You know, for R1BC002 version, the camera function in flight mode will play like this:
1. set auto keypad lock on
2. restart your phone
3. when prompt you to choose mode, do nothing, wait the keypad auto locked
4. open your shutter
now free to shoot anything,

Thanks that works.

hi! i've rarely posted replies in here but i usu read posts in this forum bec esato is brimming with helpful topics! i just bought a w800i and i just have a few questions.
1. it happened one time only, i was about to lock my phone, i pressed on the asterisk and then i saw that the phone icon on my screen has white on its outline. although it never happened to other pictures, i restarted my phone and it disappeared. i'm concerned that it might be a problem in the future. should i be concerned?
2. the volume for ringing tones and media player aren't quite as loud as the message tone. is this normal?
3. the video lasts only 9 seconds and pixellates when i move around, pixels i can deal with but 9 seconds duration for a 512 memory stick?! that's a disappointment. can this be changed?
4. i used to have a nokia 6600 and was able to copy/paste text using its joystick, i can highlight text in w800i but no option to copy/paste, is there a way?
5. what is the function of the 'play now' icon?
I think that's it for me now. hope you guys can help me =)
before i forget, my firmware is R1AA008; thanks a lot! |

yes I know it's a common thing, I also know you don't need to firmware update to do it. I was justing posting this as a tip (not as a mod), because I had just flashed to W800 and only just then realised that you could access the memory stick when the phone is in flight mode. I have not seen that trick in this thread, so I thought it was a good idea to post it. So even though you W800 owners already new that, newbie W800 owners don't. Isn't that what this thread is for? Tips and tricks for the W800?
If you wanna know about firmware go to the firmware thread or the flash with davinci thread.

1. it is not a problem if it doesn't occur again, just restart it that's the best thing you can do
2.get these files
http://rapidshare.de/files/23376730/No_Hissing.rar.html
http://rapidshare.de/files/24819277/PHF_2_play.apf.html
http://babelfish.altavista.co[....]entid%3d36298%26d%3d1149923676
and put it in your phone via farmanager. (it made my w800 sound better)
3.hold the number zero when in video mode and it will say high quality video selteced or something like that and that's it video for a long duration.
4.there's no way to do that.
5.really don't care coz i don't use it. so i guess you don't use it too?

i tried to DL them but was only successful with PHF_2_play, unable to DL rar file and 3rd link showed page cant be displayed; i adjusted the equalizer as well, hope i can DL the others soon. can you give me details on these files? and where do i place them in my phone exactly?

those are files you put on a ur phone via the far manager, if you don't know yet try searching for a thread like "get rid of hissing noise" there you will find how to make the tones sound louder, i did mine with those files and it worked great. hope it helps. just look it up i know it is in the scoustics folder where you woulfd put that, the phfplay removes the hissing on the phone, but the w810 makes the riongtone sound louder.

contrast diffrence
i just compared the display quality of my w800i with a k750i using the same picture
result: the k750i was a lot better then the w800i ,precisely better contrast in k750i
so is it a software or hardware difference? if software how to fix ?
don't tell me it's the brightness level in display options!!!
note that not all the k750i has such impressive display quality |
