Sanjv,
The P900 can surf internet is you use Opera. Only with Opera. With the built in browser, no can do I am afraid. Dun matter with streamyx or dial up or wert. No diff. I have treid it b4 with my P800 using opera and i could surf without any problems. But not with built-in SE browser unless you do a certain modification to the settings.
About checking e-mail... this I dunno can or not. I got a feeling cannot be done. |

Since we are kinda in the topic of PDAs, what do you guys think of the XDA II? Tested the machine @ Low Yat today. Quite cool IMHO. But really VERY pricey - RM 3488.00!!!

@PEE8888, i know the include browser is cacat... but can get Opera for free woot...
Check email i think must use pop3 which tries to connect via GPRS rite? Unless of course i go to http://www.yahoo.com through opera lah ... Heard frm Alex that the hotmail website cannot as it contains too may frames ...
I think XDA II is cool but mahal la ... I'd much rather get a P900 ...

because PPCs are complicated machines, very few free software, difficult to use, always crashes, can't sync properly coz it's not activesync, it's activestink.... can't display your word documents nicely, mmmm did i mention difficult to use?
PalmOS is faster, simpler, and can do most of the stuff PPCs can do right now.
i'm getting a taste of WiFI here in my gf's house.... i hate it. THe AP is just at the living room downstairs, i bring the laptop one floor up and it keeps getting disconnected.... it's really frustrating.... dunno what's wrong. |

@ Yap, please tell me why U choose Palm OS over the Symbian and Microsoft PPC OS ?
for me i think i wanna stay away frm PPC because it will crash often and haas the threat of virus .... a big price to pay for a little convinience .... now i'm stuck between getting a Palm OS PDA + Z600 combo or a P900 ... I'm leaning more toward the P900 .... But Yap, please shre ur experience wif Palm OS ok ? Thanks
@Gil, how is the Palm os ? Shre experience ?

@sanj,
it's great. Really nice. and i just explained why Palm OS is better (a gist of it la, not everything)... and i think yap will agree with wat i said after his nightmare wif a 2210 hahahahahah
1) i keep track of all my appointments, lectures, football matches, etc... in it. basically the PIM is great so no worries there
2) i keep quite a number of medical ebooks and dictionaries, medical journals to read, and references as well.
3) it seldom crashes (only crashes if u put in some crap software that the developer ddn't test properly yet - beta stuff)... oh and viruses... there has only been one virus known in PalmOS history and that has been dealt with so no probs there
4) screen is bright and crisp - makes looking at it a joy
5) ability to switch from landscape and portrait mode with just a tap of a button
6) seamless connectivity with my z600 enabling me to backup my thm and midi files, and i keep loadsa java and mophun games in my SD card so i just BT it over to my phone whenever i wanna play them. And once i take pics wif my z600 i'll BT them rightaway to my T3... cool stuff
7) 400MHz on a palmOS machine is damn fast... blazing fast actually... yes it does take a hit at the battery life but it's not that bad really... u probably need to charge every 2-3 days with moderate use... of course if u play MP3s and play games all day then of course it will drain very fast la.... i charge mine 3 days once with BT on all the time and yup i do play games on it too. So don't let ppl convince you that the battery life is bad
Mmm there are loads of apps out there for the PalmOS, much much more than for the PPC and for the symbian OS (sad to say... ). THere's this program which i use alot - cardexport - it turns your palm device into a card reader... just conect to its cradle and click on cardexport and voila! your SD Card is an external harddisk just drag and drop MP3s! basically loads of software, alot of them free, very easy to use and mmm did i mention loads of software?
9) finally, PalmOS is the most widely used OS in PDAs... so you can expect very good stability, and a wide range of sites that host loads of software, and you can never go wrong with a Palm OS device
And yup, i agree with you about the CLIEs although i wished i had the money to own one of them... but then i'll have to invest in MoneySticks to store my stuff... so... no thanks, keep them away from me
ok been a long post... u owe me a drink sanj... cheers
ps: surfing online with the t3 is also great coz it supports frames. But then why the heck u wanna surf on that small screen? but whatever it is, if u really want and have to, then i'm glad to tell you that it's very smooth and fast with the browser in the T3 - webpro

Does it have limited web browsing capability ? Alex said that his P800 with the operA browser can surf with no problems except for the bloody msn page because it contains too may frames ...
Regarding the free drink.... I'll put U on my waiting list... Ajack is still at the top of it waiting for his warm water in a tempurung "kepala" ...
