I am 99% sure its the phone. (I know I know, that leaves 1%). Before I updated the software today I had an application failure, "SMSwatchermain" I think that was the name of it, I didn't write it down. Anyway, powered down, and back up. Called a friend and told her to send me a message. She sent the message not even a minute later, and the phone just started vibrating, no sms alert, no icon, nothing. It vibrated for about 20 seconds and quit. About an hour later, the unread sms icon was on the status bar. I have since updated my software and everything seems to be back to normal...or so i hope! |

SE P990i web browser is the worst web browser of all new smart phone I think, therefore is there any other web browser available in the market for SE P990i.

I think the best would be you notice the sms receiving time and date. By looking at the message receiving time you can easily guess what is causing the delay.

I haven't update my vodafone p990 since i bought it. Not out of choice, simply because it won't update on seus. I can't explain it but (touch wood) for the passed 2 weeks i've had no problems with the unit and i'm getting around 2 days standby including about 1-2 hours of talk time and about 4 hours of mp3 listening time. I'm pretty sure that the battery life seems to be improving with time.
When I bought my k800 the lady at the t-mobile store said to fully charge it for 16hrs and then use it till it dies and then recharge till full and repeat around 3 times. I did the same with the p990's battery.
They both use the same battery so i can interchange without 2 much fuss.
But the cool thing is that when I put the v800 battery in the p990 the performance was around 70%. So for those with battery issues I'd try the whole charge-drain conditioning.
So far as system stability goes I've had no problems so long as I don't have more than 5 apps running at once. I'm pretty sure it's just the number and not type. Because I was using the in built browser over wifi and rss feed, the mp3 player, pdf viewer and messaging without any problems. Not my usual demands because i tend to average around 3 apps whilst in usage.
I do tap the bottom right corner and bring up task manager to close the programs once i'm done with them though so maybe that's a factor.
Those that have one, i'd seriously reccomend marti fields screen protector.
I use mine flip removed and have no worries about scratching it. I use my fingers instead of stylus, well more like the stub of a nail. But the screen protector does it's job.
Doing a master reset on the unit initially, helps I've found. Especially if you install your programs to memory card as oppose to the phone storage. 4gb high speed ms duo pro seems to cause problems during video playback but am unsure as to what that attributes to. So I leave it for the camera and am happy with 512mb msdp for the time being.
I am a business user but comparitively probably not a very heavy user. Though (from experience) SE's customer support kinda sucks regarding this phone atm I'd anticipate it will improve greatly once things like vista are released. Simply because I've been told they're working for alot of 64bit stuff and it's playing hell with all their deadlines.
After all that I wouldn't like to declare that i'm overly impressed by the unit. But IMHO there is nothing quite as fitting in the market or near realease as the p990. So LG/Samsung if you guys glance forums and catch this; please release an alternative for us. |

Got my phone now and have one question.
How do i use wlan as for opera, im+ and so on. Donīt wanna use 3g like it does with the default settings.

Yes but it's different from the current browser on the p990i. That is why they call it opera mini not just an opera. Opera mini is made with java and it takes less memory when surfing the net than the default opera on the phone. |

i want my P990 to connect to my pc to be used as a usb external storage device.how should i do it??the phone is connected and charging...in my pc,device manager>hardware>usb>2 usb icons showing: se p990 pc-connect controller and sep990 composite device.
i am not planning to use this pc for SEUS so dont want to install pc suite...only for trasnfer of songs and pdf and ms word documents.my disc2phone does not recognise that the usb is connected....so no music transfer.so i uninstalled it.

1. Don't use a USB hub or battery powered laptop when charging, SE don't recommend it
2. Disconnect the P990 and when flip closed, select More>Connections>USB then select File Transfer option
3. Re-connect to the PC

Since it is announced I've read every information regarding P990.Now that it's on the market I read about all kind of bugs but also about good sides. Finaly I made a decision that I'll buy it.For the last year and a half I use my astonishing P910i.With it I have almost everything I need:my music, movies, pictures, books, internet, e-mail ,msn messanger, ms office, dictionary, home video inspection (argus rs), call and sms management, voice recording, task and calendar, etc. Now P990 offers all that plus a really good camera, wlan, landscape browsing, usb storage, querty, better screen, FM radio etc. I want to ask a qustion to curren P990 users. Does it handle larger (more than 1mb) ms word or excel files as P910 doesn't? It is quite important to me.Thanks in advance

Has anyone else noticed that the sound of the p990 ringing is very well rubbush it sounds like it have been shoved in cupboad or the treble has been turned down and the bass up, or have i just missed a vital setting somewhere i know u can change the equalizer in the media player but that dont solve the problem for ringtones |
