@uchrik: u're so outdated, have u forgotten that we are now going to have single term tenures of 6years for the president? Anyway PDP is dead so u might as well settle for being my vice president, that is if Pxthomas will allow you.
@Abu: Minister for information, no arguments!!!
@Coola: Minister for youth and social dev.
@Mamba: Minister for works
@Egunje: Science and Tech (so u can pursue the space programme)
@Aya: Communications minister
@Areafada: Housing & Urban Dev.
@Angel: Finance
@Deji: Minister for transport

@amby & pxth: you guys want me to die from laughter!!! Nearly woke my baby. Pxthomas!!!! You’re too sharp!!!! You must be a sniper! Amby!! Don’t take him as VP o!!!! A man as sharp as this will be running the nation behind your back. And he wont wait for you to vie for a second term! (whether this 6 year single term farce goes thru or not cos we all know the next admin will trash it once in power!) Coincidental (do I really bring forward that much info??) I heard this yday evening on the news that Chavez in Venezuela pinned petrol prices at 12c per gallon!!! Assuming the exchange rate is N130 to $1 (sigh) that N15.60k a gallon, N4.12k a litre!!!!! Because of feul scarcity I had to buy fuel at an independent marketers’ station at N85 a litre. Black market goes for N100 a litre. How hard is it to get a visa to Venezuela??

Nice 2 see guys here. Welcum 2 d new guys. About Nigeria: Like Vilfredo Pareto said, "Developement comes from the elites". We all go 2 school 2 learn and becum educated, so dat whereva we find ourselves in d future, we can engage in activities dat will bring about developement. CORRUPTION has taken over everything in Nigeria and all d elites who are in d position 2 better dis country are forced 2 work 4 their pockets alone+becum greedy. As dis is d case, I'm sorry 2 say dat Nigeria is FAR 4rm developement. So it doesn't suprise me dat they want 2 indulge in dis bogus space project thingy. D money, like some sensible ppl here said, can be used 4 some other important and pressing issues. Infact I hate talking about Nigeria. PLS, just pm me d mtn setting u guys are talking about.

@ambyz: HAAAAA!!!! You see! You see!! PX has already written his Presidential acceptance speech! DON’T ALLOW HIM O!!!

@pxth: Any chance for me getting in as VP?!?

EHEM!!!! As I was saying, amby, we need to stick together for us to build a strong nation!!!!

@deji: double hailings back at you!!!! For some reason I don’t get to use my laptop to go to secure sites like yahoo or hotmail (or their messengers). I’ve checked the security settings at the internet options to no avail. All the SSL 2.0, SSL 3.0, TSL 1.0 check boxes, I’ve tried checking and unchecking them, but no dice. Didn’t see any PCT 1.0 check box though. Any guru out there with any advise? Anyone?!?

@Abu: I do not have details of our proposed space program. You mentioned $20M. I suspect we both know it costs about that to get a ride on a Russian rocket. $10M is not a lot of money if one is considering any kind of space program.

That one is not personally consulted in the planning of a government programme does not make it fraudulent or the idea misplaced.

As I have said before, in funding programmes of this nature, there will always be alternative uses for the money. This is not enough to invalidate it.

This does not deprive you of your opinion.

I don't think there is anything more to add to this discussion.

@Egunj: Its not only an issue of misplaced priorities that I’m talking about. Its also the issue of our govt weighing success on how much money was thrown into a project rather than what the project was able to achieve or what impact the project has had on us. When you read the headlines you see “N5 BILLION SPENT ON ROADS IN SO & SO STATE”, “N750 MILLION SPENT IN RENOVATING UNIBLAH’S LIBRARY”, “N1.8 BILLION FOR NEW SPACE PROGRAMME”. But the road project might only be a few kilometres of road leading to the Governor’s village, the library might have only gotten outdated books worth N1 million, the space programme might be an excuse for some big-wigs to visit Kennedy Space Centre to “observe” NASA operations.

We don’t need to be personally consulted to see the viability of a programme, be it aerospace, nuclear, agricultural or civil. If the money they plan to spend is not enough to do something viable then why spend it? We know $10M can’t do anything substantial so we shouldn’t be saying they are making an achievement at bargain prices. That automatically invalidates the project.

And that is about that on my opinion. I appreciate yours.

@all: still need help with my yahoo, hotmail dilemma. Since I can access it through my phone, the problem cant be from the gprs ISP. It has to be my explorer but i switched of firewalls, added yahoo as a trusted site, etc. PNF GURUS!!!! WHERE ARE YOU!!!!!

accumulation of reserves is not economic prosperity, what's the essence of accumulation money yet you're in need. Why cant they take a chunk of the reserve into power and force improvement in that regard. The challenge of power in the country is enough to keep the president busy for 4years, but the goverment keep boasting of accumulation reserves which we all did not come to be by its frugality but by unimaginable oil price increase in the international market.
