Hi gardar,
When it comes for SE to move to a different platform, it's completely a different environment... so it cannot be compared.
I love both platform though... Windows Mobile and SymbianOS UIQ.

yeah I know... It is pretty strange, I think they should make a new serie for windows version "b" maby? b800, b900 etc then..? and let the p-series be uiq... But This Is just what I was told from my insider.... But I trust that guy completely, so what he was saying isnt just him blowing bubbles...
P800 - P910i - P1i - and some non-P phones... |

If you think about it, it's only logic.
Since Nokia owns the majority of symbian they can appoint whoever they want, and go the way they want.
As it stands now, SE has no advantage in using Symbian and go by Nokia's rules, better to use M$ Windows. A lot more potential developers on that platform.
But let's just wait and see.

MS mobile 5.0 is certainly the smart way to go. With the advent of Visual Dot Net 2005 and other upgrades from Microsoft, there appears to be a certain affinity for developers to go for Microsoft. There might probably be a surge of apps for MS Mobile 5.0 shortly and this advantage could be harvested if SE could just switch over to this OS.
Still I hate MS for putting in application signing as a requisite. Its always a hinderance to good technology. Here's hoping the best for SE. |

I predict a dearth of apps. We always have anti virus software. Moreover there will be viruses anyway |

I guess you're right. There are also thousands of virus in PC's and you can easily get away with that.
Just turn off your BT...

Well I still think it will be UIQ. if the release date is pushed out a bit further, UIQ 3 may just be the OS. It would be difficult to release the flagship smartphone on a "last-year's model" OS
Anyone fancy a bet M$ vs Symbian |

Well, I may be wrong but I guess its good bye to the free world.....
But still as others said, it is unlikely that SE would go for the MS Mobile 5.0 at the time being
