Lots of videos concerning 3g and mostly with v800 at:
http://sfrtv.sfr.fr/sfr/diffs/s/sfr/?1st_page=3g&page=site_sfr
(in french, i know...)
You're right i think I won't be able to view/modify data settings, but you can add new accounts automaticaly with sfr (they send a special sms containing account info)
102 inbox + 87 outbox ? strange numbers... Perhaps some of them are "long sms" ?
Can you confirm that the only few old songs (sine t610) are avaible for sms ? no way to customize it ?
another point to lucky v800 owners:
what video format does it read ? only 3gp ?

So far only 3gp I have tried, I dont think it can do any other formats. You might be right about the sms and so I am guessing some might be long messages. The tones for sms are the same as most of the SE models...All my phones live on silent unfortunantly...I hate all ringtones be it mp3 or whatever..prefer it just vibrates.
I tried to understand you message about the 'special settings but couldn make much sense of it..could you try and explain it a little more in depth? |

mmm, okay but i've read somewhere that the phone was h.263 (3gp) and mpeg-4 capable...
The special configuration sms ? I think it's named OTA. They send you this message and your phone displays "new settings received. install ?"
here it is (in french)

OTA means 'Over The Air' and means sending settings or even adjusting settings over the air and can be used for far far more (like device discovery etc etc)
I'll have a look at those later on mate.

@everybody:
What do you think about V800 design and dimensions ?
My girlfriend doesn't like it at all (she hates it !), but it looks attractive to me.
I got a v800 in my own hands yesterday and it's still a (very) big phone, not so much differences from z1010
(lot of technologies inside, I know)
Does someone own a dss-25 / css-25 ?
Tell me if I'm wrong but the css-25 is a dss-25 with micro+loudspeaker ?
I think about buying it, but can somebody tell me if this staff is usefull
(for flashing, apps, ...)
@ c0mm0n :
Woops, you're right I've read to speedy...
You're the same c0mm0n as the one on palm-spirit ?

nexx, most women i know including mine love clamshell and rarely have their phone in a pocket but in their bag ; my wife has a Z600 and there's little difference in size with v800.
For all you may read across the web, there's only one c0mm0n |

I disagree. I think the V800 is a fair bit larger than the Z600, even if it is much sleeker and appears less bulky.
But it is long enough to fit in my old P800 case

it was related to "women" discussion, what i meant is that for her, would she switch from z600 to v800, she wouldn't really notice the size difference, as she's part of the "mobile in handbag" community, whereas some ppl want to have the smallest phone. |

Considering that I am a woman, I do believe I am uniquely qualified to state that even women notice the difference in size. Even though I too carry my phone in my handbag.

I just saw it CPW and its a bit on the big side, i personly thaught it was more bulky than my s700, even though its lighter (i think) |

Gah.. I sat up all night trying to fix my telia mailbox on the V800. I can recive mail but can't send. I know this is because Telias outgoing SMTP-server doesn't work unless you are using them as your ISP. But
I had it to work on my T610 by putting vodafones outgoing SMTP there instead. But now nothing works! I have tried a lot of outgoing SMTPs and I'v spend a lot of time in the phone with the people on Vodafone that didn't realy know what I wanted. Until I got to someone this day who speaked about that the V800 doesnt support other outgoing SMTP-servers in sweden! WHAT?! This can't be!
I don't belive them.
Vodafone Sweden has a service they call SMPT-tjänst where they say you can solve this problem... but then again. The V800 doesn't support this. (I rather think Vodafone-engineers havn't done their job to support the V800!)
If you log in to My Vodafone you can read about the service when you log in.
It says (sorry, this will be in swedish when I won't translate it)
And this service doesn't work on V800! Who to blame? Vodafone or SE?
