Agreed,
We don't need to fight - after all, Sony Ericsson are launching what has the potential to be the 'S700i of today' - lets let them carry on, and trust their judgement.
Thank you Mick, for your input - and those crying out that QVGA @ 30FPS is inadequate, get a grip!!
As I said before, be glad its not QCIF!!!!

lol - funny you fellas should say that - she looks like a somewhat more petite version of my other half back in London!
Lucky guy!
Haha,
Why thank you - miss her loads though, makes London seem a million miles away...(-_-;)
Its at times like this, when being a Londoner in Japan begins to show its downside.

if c905 won't have VGA recoring capabilities..
if VGA willl affect too much its battery performance..
here is hoping at least SE will upgrade c905 video recording to CIF (352x288) 30 fps
@oli
i agree with you mate.
IMO will be releasing a cybershot with DVD-like or true DVD video recording this year (perhaps.. unless is planning to announce a HandCam line of phones)
Videos are "moving" pictures. so i guess Cybershots chould handle video good as well.
Doesn't rumors have it that a UIQ cybershot is also in the pipeline? Maybe that one will do DVD video

Cheers Mate ...
Hey, was it to me? Cheers to you but I sure hope you're right and you might be. Just you're one voice against (apparent mind you) evidence so we all have to wait a little bit longer to truly feel relieved. |

Oh dear, I seem to be one of the few here not creaming my pants - 18mm thick but NO OPTICAL ZOOM?! Hell, some real cameras are thinner than that!
I'll stick with my Canon A710IS & SE890i for a while yet. It takes more than pixel count to produce decent photos |

@NightBlade ah, yes that does look more like a video call camera. Most of the other shots have a smaller squarish hole to the left (GSMArena image below). I wonder why we don't have information on a non-3G/non-video-calling version, if there's really 2 versions like the K800/K790 did. More hope, I guess.

It'll only affect battery life while one's actually recording a video... and not too much. |

but of cousre mate. that's what i meant NightBlade.
Maybe doesn't want an N95 battery performance on c905.
video recording at VGA is a huge power drainer. and also a big memory eater.

Well, the majority of us don't like to 'Cream our pants'...
Busb, you must realise that the Camera module in the C905 uses a LARGER sensor, and has a Xenon Flash - See fig 1.
Fig.1
So to summarise, as the C905 uses a larger (8MP) Sensor - along with Xenon Flash - and uses a HSUPA radio - realise that you are asking for a handset much more the size of the SO905iCS, which clocks in at roughly 24mm.
Plus due to the smaller aperture caused by the increasing Optical zoom, the sensor gets less light and shots become increasingly noisy, as the camera tries to 'balance' things out.
From there on, things get quite messy - what with noisy photographs et all.
With what also seems a larger Xenon flash, its anyones guess that the Capacitators needed to power it are larger too.
Take my word for it, you'd much rather have a powerful Xenon flash in the dark, than a primitive Optical Zoom (which works great in Digital cameras mind you).
Add to it, the PhotoFlash tube LED is effective - but it'll never be a Xenon.

So I guess for the C905 to be "perfect" for some of you...it's either Optical zoom or VGA recording? Considering these two features are negligible depending on who, I'd say this phone is "perfect" as is.

VGA recording, Optical zoom, 3D acceleration, Dolby chip (for 5.1 audio - it's in development right as we speek), and powerful CPU with decent amount of RAM + OLED display, good sensor+lens AND a good platform makes perfect phone ... IMO ^_^
EDIT: don't forget the video projector (japs already released first phone with projector, small and cool)

@Norbi_nw
Dude - I hoped i'd made it clear earlier - when referring to the Japanese, please refrain from using the term 'Japs'...
Instead use JPN, or JP...
Thanks.
