Btw, how do you guys take such good macro shots in low light conditions (that watch and that bottle for example)? What I mean is that the flash is very bright so most of my pictures turn out white...

Hi ardzuna.
I didn't use the flash for the bottle pic. What I did was position the bottle by the house's back door, with a lot of natural light filtering in onto the bottle. I then adjsted the light setting on the scroll wheel down quite a bit, to create more contrast and avoid over-exposure etc.

Thanks for the tip, amawanqa. I did use the flash for these pictures, but I put the light setting way down as you said and the result looks much better.

Hi amawanqa, beautiful pics!

Please post your pics at The Official Monthly Esato Camera Phone Shootout - July

The topic is flowers!

http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=172164&start=15

I also wanted to ask, in the bottle pic, how come there are no grains in the dark part of pic

even when I adjust the light in my pics, the dark part always has grains...

@ ardzuna:
Glad it helps.

@ sigea:
Thanks, yes I took those pics for the July photo competition, but I can't make my mind up which one I should choose from those, as only one pic per member is allowed.. any suggetsions?
About the background, as the natural light was better than what the (deliberate) light setting caused, there was far less tendency to manifest 'grains'.
Also, grains would've been evident if I adjusted the light setting higher. But as there was so much direct light on the bottle, it was still good enough to pick up the bright details on the bottle with the low setting while being dark enough in the background to not show up the grainy elements. Trial and error.

Some pics of my dog taken with my P1.
I also tried to take a macro shot of one flower in my garden, but it was windy outside and the flower was swinging a lot, so here is what I got. It's a little blurry but I like it.
