Anybody know why this is happening? When I recieve sms and mms, the name is shown like this: "Name of person/1", and not: "Name of person" as it usually does on my other non symbian sony ericsson phones. Anybody know how to change this? Please explain, thanks

And another question, can the P1 have screensaverclock? Is it on the phone (if yes, where and how?= or do I have to download it (link?).

Thanks very much

Its probably because you have the contacts name stored twice, are you using the phone and sim memory for contacts?

Screensaver clock is not on the P990, if I remember correctly.

I've had my P1i for a couple of days now and it is so much better than my P990i. I bought it from x1387 and am extremely impressed by their service; I ordered it late Monday, UK time, and it arrived on Wednesday.

The form factor of the phone is a great improvement over the old P series phones, I don't feel as though I'm carrying a housebrick around.

As far as performance is concerned, I've not experienced a single restart. The phone is very fast, the screen is much easier to read with better contrast in sunny conditions.

The sound quality of the phone is excellent, calls are much clearer and the radio and music player are far better. At least I can listen to music at a reasonable volume now without straining my ears.

There are one or two minor bugs, but in 25 years of being a software user I've yet to meet a bug free piece of software.

All in all, well done SE.

First post here.

I got a P1i yesterday as an upgrade on O2. My previous phone to this was an N80 and I've also played around with numerous N95's. I'm glad I went for the P1i though. My previous experience of SE phones wasn't too good but it looks like I may be converted now.

Installed a few applications, including TomTom. TomTom on the P1i is so much better than on the S60v3 phones. It runs at around the same frame rate but is so much easier to use.

All I need to do now is get used to that keypad.

WOOT I got my P1i today as a gift from my boss (for puttin in the long overtime hours) I'm still adjusting to it (from my P900) but so far no problems. The music quality out of the speaker is also much much louder then my P900 and a bit clearer too (i suppose they would have improved the speakers by no since it's been like 8 years). The only thing i'm trying to figure out is which video formats work with the P1i. Tried text typing with the next keypad and it's not too bad, you just got to get used to it. You guys who play video games a lot should have a easy time since i've only mispressed letters like 3 times. Another thing I cannot figure out is whether the clock has a daylight savings option (like the P900 did). Anyways, that's it for now.

Just took delivery of my P1i from o2 upgrade, got it for free on a £35 pm line. Was on a £20 tariff before. Coming from a Nokia s60 user it will take some time adjusting to UIQ3, this my 1st phone with a qwerty keyboard, I've sent a few txts and so far so good, rocker keys are good and generally am liking the qwerty input.

Will install some appz onto it now, so far so good, it will take some time getting use to it lol. Will post some pics up very soon comparing the size to some other phones of mine.

I was getting the same at home last night. Haven't had a chance to investigate this properly yet, although I have got it running on an access point we have at work today.

Addendum to my previous post

Man this thing keeps going and going and going!
I played with it 4 hours straight last night playing movies and music, pluging it in and out of the computer etc. Used it another half day today (though not as rigorusly) and I still have 70%. Estimating from this, I will probably get 2.5~3 days per charge under normal usage. Maybe 2 days if I just keep playing music off of it.

By the way, I haven't had this unit reboot on me yet, even when doing a WLAN search (phew).

One last thing, anyone know of a way to cover or protect the lens? Maybe a really good protecter (like screen protectors) or some kind of screw on cap (even though there's probably no where to screw it to). Lemme know ok.

Peace out

Got a P1i as my first sim-free handset and had it for 3-4 days now and I have to say I'm loving it so far! Had all the P Series handsets and much prefer this one to the lot of them. Hated the keyboards on the P910 and P990 but love the rocker keyboard on this ... works far better than it's given credit for and having it double as a regular keypad for entering numbers is great when need to make a call. May have to get TomTom now! ... anyone know if a version 7 of Navigator is out anytime soon?
