all settled... and about £200 lighter! The voda sticker on my M600 doesn't bother me in the slightest, it was only the software that was a pain, and that's long gone now. I think it's well worth getting a subsidised phone if you can, as long as the firmware can be changed.

now available for pre-order in Sweden (delivery expected in august).
Price 4,444 SEK = £328 GBP = €485. Price includes VAT, but does not include delivery.

any chance of seeing that in English? Would they deliver to the uk?

Sorry, but this particular on-line store only deals within Sweden. Still it is useful to see what approx. price level/range the P1 will be. Often a lot of on-line places charge too much when taking pre-orders.

Shop around, hopefully you will find a similar price in the UK. Else just wait until it is released and it should drop quickly to this level.

anyone noes when is it coming out.......

That's my question as well.....Why is it taking so long? I'm dyeing for a new UIQ smartphone from Se.......

why would you want to support someone who abandon's the support to its devices under warranty and at the end their customers... i will never buy another Sony ericsson phone again for my IT Clients or even recommend it to any dept under my building and i cover 32stories and replacement rate of smartphones here is avg of 5months, least. I am now looking into Nokia N series or Blackberry products for the upcoming project.

Yeah, SE's attitude towards the P990 users makes me wonder how long the P1 will be supported. My guess is when the first Symbian 9.5 devices appear, the P1 will quickly follow in the steps of the P990 and the M600... RIP...
P990i: A mistake, a curse and a disgrace So I lowered my expectations and settled for a P1i. I couldn't keep my expectations so low for a long time so now I have an HTC Touch HD

I mean the lower end phones of SE are ok with me like the T series, K series, etc.. but when it comes to a smartphone where it needs constant improvement , updates or well in this case i only look at sony's because they never have a stable smartphone in their hands and full of restrictions for developers, its a fail fail situation for people who want to adapt a product they can rely on.

P910 was better then P990 but still not good enough like PPC variants nonetheless it should be noted that p910 did stood out in front of others in term of design, innovation and bundle.

But face it. until sony get's their act to find a stable OS to their high end, i'll learn from the best, you guys. until then Hello world while i shop (Nokia, Blackberry Im looking at you)

@Scoobyd, Boinng & >500, I've got to admit I've not seen anything from work regarding the P1. Little worrying I guess I'll ask the SE rep when he is next in but who knows when that'll be.

Although I've gotta admit only about 3weeks ago or so I saw info on the E90 coming out (which is supposed to be out on the 12th for people that want to know..)

I can just only hope, as I do honestly want the P1 as my next phone..

Yup well on speaking to him further he was pretty confident Vodafone won't be carrying it. Apparently they indicated that the next high end SE phone to be released with Voda will be the K850 in October.

Recommended SE price for the P1i in Belgium : 529 EUR. But in some shops it's likely to be 30-40 EUR cheaper.

@corrado85, actually SE's customer relations policy is very stable, it's just that they make sure that we, the customer, get the short end of the stick.
This said, the P1 will probably not show the shortcomings displayed by the P990 due to more memory and no flip. But having the same OS version and base code as the P990 as well as the same hardware, it wouldn't be much different in terms of speed and stability.
I am really waiting for the first impressions from users who buy the P1, for their sake I hope that I am wrong...
