I presume its fw: 3.0649. (0.0.1)
A friend of mine flashed his phone some 12 days or so and I think that was it.

It takes like less then 10 minutes to flash the phone with the live update thingy from nokia. Its pretty good although i'm not sure if the latest firmware is out for branded phones.

n73 users, is your n73 also so squizy like the one i tested? when i push the fone on both sides, it gives that disgusting plastic noise... joy seems ok, but the whole fone feels way too plastic... even 6233 is better made than that.

Well if you havenīt heard anything good about the phone- where have you been? There are a lot of opinions about this phone. And iīd say that the most of them are positive. There are negative opinions about it that are based on taste and preferense, but these opinions can be discarded- you have to decide what is important for you and what you want in an phone.
There have been complaints about that the phone is sluggish but that has been resolved now with latest firmware. There are problems with the joystick(falls off) on some phones. Some complain about squekyness in the chassi. And there are complaints about "the" purple fog" in pictures taken in poor lightning. I haventīnoticed any "puple fog" though. I think that is a problem that also gets fixed in the latest firmware.
And which phone doesnīt have faults and problems in the early stage of itīs product cycle? The manufactures feel pressed to release new models and let us the consumers do the final testing. That sucks but that is how it is.
I can strongly recommend the N73 or the N73ME! I have reflashed my N73 to a N73ME and you get a much stronger/better sound in the musicplayer if you do so. You might void the warranty if you do this manuver, but for me it was worth the risk since a good music player is essential to me. (It actually sounds better than my SEW800i!)
The camera is in my humble oppinion just as good as the K800i camera(yes even if the K800i has a real flash. But if you want to take a picture i poor lightning and the motive is furhter away then 2 meters then the N73 is better)
About the squeeky sound- a suggestion: Canīt you apply some lubricant? Spray on or in another fashion?

| boto43... You have to learn to read between the lines of so-called reviews, user-reviews, etcetc... I mean, this is (not only but...) a sony ericsson forum, yet, praise one se-model and someone wil/will/will point out why and how you're wrong, because another se-ericsson-model is apparently better... have b*tched so much about nokia... Yet, for 5 months now I have been in nokia e61-heaven!!! And I have experienced not 1 of the many e-61/symbian s-60/3rd edition-probs I read so much about... And how do you think all the posters here with K800i-probs feel about the fact that the k800i is one of 2006's biggest hits!!! (which opens another can of worm: you post 1 bad word about a phone and you get 100/10000 replies.... Soon the thread looks massive... When in fact someone just didn't read the manual or switched from a nokia 1011 to an M600... Or from a non-smartphone to an e70... My favourite: before the K800I was even released (before! Remember!) some "user" reviewed it on, I think, cnet... Saying it's crap, "cause there are no 3rd party-applications available for the phone"...that wasn't even on sale then!!!!! So... Try the phone! Try it, cause lastly, who nows what the network's doing to it - right (like my e61) or wrong (like a nokia 6680 I once owned...)...
if the panties don't fit, they are not your size! (quote, jerry springer show, and how true...)

to be honest i didnt recognized any bugs in the fw at usage, but imo its not that fast, as n70 or 6680, but still accepteable. my problem was the cracky housinf and the weird keypad. battery life is very good.

To me the n73 was lightning fast in comparison to the 3250 (both symbian 9.1). But then again it still lacked the speed of a e61 in phone operations. I know i am comparing three totally different types of phones but all based on the latest symbian. But hope this puts the speed of the phone in a little more perspective.
