i like this bit
A Symbian version of Skypes software for Voice over IP is yet to come. And according to one of the Skype founders, Niklas Zennström, it is on its way. Mr Zennström declared this at a press conference at CeBIT in March this year.

Well on Orange in the UK I believe you can get a P910 at about £150 on pay as you talk! So I'm guessing you mean the price when i first came out which was about £550.

lazarini ... you get the manual when you buy the phone !
i guess if you want to look at it without buying the phone, you need to check SE's manuals/drivers/tec-spec site.
might not be up on the first day the phone is out, but it'll be there.

I doubt the manual is available anywhere yet as not even the white paper has been published on the developer site yet

Jah, glad that you also remember the R380! That device I think was the very first true smartphone (running something similar to EPOC). If it wasnt then it surely was the BEST in its time. And that WAP browser was indeed incredible. I wish I could buy that phone, its pure collectors item. STill glad that the unification of Ericsson with Sony went well, initially it terrified me (T68i an exception). But I think I'll re-own, for my 3rd time, the T39m that phone was just pure PIMP! |

It's good to see that I'm not the only SE (or E///) frick around...
I still have "functional" phones from the good old days...
I have 4 R380... one is even in pink.... (special edition)
If you already mentioning the T39, hoe can you forget the SH888 ???
Today I got the P990 for 4 hours... this phone is "going around" between 5 friends of mine, it is still full of bugs, and I don't have anything else to add to Bengal's great reviews. All that I can say is I WANT THIS PHONE..
have a great weekend |

I am a Treo 650 owner.I am new here. This is my first post. I have been looking for a Treo/Palm Replacement. I do not see a future for the Palm OS. I am NOT a fan of windows. I have been looking for something that can do all the things that my treo can do. I was wondering if the P990i Is a good match.I want the lay our to bee simple like the Palm OS. I have not used a SE P series phone before. So I have a few questions
I am looking for something to do the following:
Videos- AVI,MPEG etc
Music- MP3 OGG
Apps: MS Word/Isilo, RSS reader/ download podcasts, money management
Phone: compatible with Tmobile (USA), caller mp3 ringtones (specific to caller) Picture ID.
If anyone has used a Treo 600/650 before please give me your input on this.
What is the warrnaty like with these devices? Where is the best place to buy them?
What about podcasts? Are there andy Sony Ericsson P910 podcast or some podcast about the Symbian OS? I am new to it.
thanks |

I to owned a Treo 650....when comparing the OS to the symbian one, i must say that there are some things in the Treo 650 which are far better implemented than the P series, one of these being the fact that you can operate the whole system with one hand.
However the P series are far supior in the media section, it can play almost all files that you throw at it (think .avi maybe a problem but you can download a program that can take care you for that)
The keypad on the 650 looks better to use, when compared to the P990, the P990 looks very rubbery but I have yet to use it so that is my assumptions only by the pictures. It can play MP3 and there are programs available to play OGG...there are also applicaitons that open and edit word, excel files (quick office)....podcasting, not sure if there is a software available for that...anyone?...oh yeah caller id (picture) and unique ringtone for each contact is available and by much better implemented then the Treo...no need to have any 3rd party application e.g. ringo....
To be honest I think the P series will be a very good purchase, saying that all the programs i listed above need to be recreated for the new OS, but i am sure this will be done....
The P990 will be a great purchase, and from what the inital reviews on them, seems to justify my statement...
....About the windows phone, I use to agree with you, but just purchased a K-Jam, and must admit I am very very impressed with it...
Anything else please just say....
