Remind me again what the next Ray is called! Looks like that will be my next phone. I've come to the conclusion that 4.3 probably is max size for me. But i think V is on the large side. 4.3, at least 720p, 2 gig ram, IP-classed. That would make me happy!

The latest I got is that Gaga is a 5' device.
Gaga will be slightly thicker than the Z and it will be slightly shorter. It will have a dedicated camera button and a slightly curved back. Announcement in May.

Can you confirm C670x (4.8", FHD, IP58, S600) does not exist, just as randu said?

When will Sony release a phone with an optical zoom and a proper flash.
I mean look what SONY can do with cameras ! The awesome DSC-TX66

It is 13 mm thin (2mm of which are for the metallic Carl Zeiss lens cover) and weighs only 109 gr...

And you can buy it now on amazon for 230 dollars

@sambouka

because optical zoom requires a lot of space for the lenses to move. it also adds a lot of weight and cost to the device as a whole. sure they can create a point and shoot camera that's thin and has optical zoom. but it's a fully dedicated camera.

in my opinion, optical zoom is essentially useless if it's less than 5x. just walk up to the subject!

anyway, i think the primary answer is cause it takes up a lot of room for the lens movement

@moogoo
the phone focal length is usually too wide and gives distorted pictures. 3x optical zoom should give ca 50mm focal length and more "normal" looking pictures
But optical zoom takes too much space and fixed 50mm is probably too narrow for everyday use

Hmm, never heard of this SCHOTT glass being used on the L. After viewing what little Youtube vids there are of it, it does at least begin to intrigue me. So between SCHOTT glass, Gorilla Glass 3 and Dragontrail glass, any guesses as to what's going to find its way on the 2H phones? I suppose it would be nice if they could use a glass tough enough so that they don't think they have to use the shatterproof sheets.

Painful as it is, I think I'll be skipping the ZL and going for either phablet or the 2H flagship. I wonder if either will support floating touch or glove mode, as that tech has finally made a comeback of sorts in the SP. I suppose the phablet will use something akin to floating touch with its stylus, at the very least.

I really have to start saving my pennies because between a new phone, a smart watch, possibly a new tablet and the PS4, Sony's gonna bleed me dry in the second half of this year Of course I'll have a HUGE grin on my face throughout the entire process
