I've seen the light.

The Fish panel isn't (completely) useless!

Page 17 (in the swedish manual) states that the fishes have names and functions (but I guess you must be japanese or japanese inspired like my kids, 16 & 20) to see the use or remember how to read the information.

The fishes have names ! (and changes colour)

1 Demekin. Battery monitor fish

2 Ranchu. Unread msg fish

3 Wakin. Sound off fish

4 Ryukin. Missed call fish

Read The Fine Manual ?

You never sleep ?

By the way, if you want to move your garmin maps to a bigger memory card, there are tools to help you.
I have GXT running on my old mio 168 with the help of these tools.

@mattiL

Well, if you should mail the X1Support on this subject you will probably get an answer that it's an error in the manual. I have found that most things I have asked them is either Microsoft Windows Mobile's fault, or an error in the manual.

You can take a look in one of the folders that came with the phone. The one that describes the radio panel.
There should be two buttons on the radio panel, one for alarm settings and one for other settings (I assumed RDS settings).
I mailed the support about this and got the answer that it was unfortunately falsely described in that folder.
And I also found out that the only RDS function the radio supports is frequency switching.

Hi all,

This problem is really starting to bug me and I searching the web, I still can't find a solution. Basically it's an age old problem....

When I transfer my contacts from via bluetooth from my PC using Outlook Express 6, the "File As" order on the phone is "Lastname, Firstname". Whilst on the Outlook Express it's displayed as "Firstname, Lastname".

How on earth can you change the default on the X1 Windows Mobile to be "Firstname, Lastname"?

I've seen a solution for "full-blown" outlook (http://www.pocketpcfaq.com/raj/FileAs.html), but not sure if this fix would work on the Outloook Express version.

At the very least, is it possible to highlight all contacts and do a mass change on the "File As" field?

Many thanks in advance, all ideas/solutions welcome.

Yea!

Now I can SMS while driving again.. hehe.

T9 keyboard installed with swedish language.. (and 14 others)

First find and install "htc_ezinputxt9.cab"
Then find and install "T9 Input 14 Languages Update.cab"

Then you have it with the other selections of keyboards/letter recognize etc..

That's fair enough. But I don't want someone to hold my hand, because I take care of my ears. Other people, on the other hand....

Open packaging and unscrew things on the floor. If it's on the floor, it can't fall any further can it.

Marc,

What's Seven? Can't you use Exchange push email?

Also, the softkeys at the bottom of the display showing different things to what the hard keys underneath them do is not a bug. That's by design.

I have been concerned about text size since I saw the specs of the phone. I've been wanting one of these ever since I saw it, it's just gorgeous. Do you think you could do me a favour? If you still have your X1, could you see if you can see individual pixels? If you can, do you reckon you could set the font size to default, and then count how many pixels high an uppercase letter like I, T, J, M etc is?

A VERY important observation you should ALL pay attention to.

The Japanese and Chinese use a different part of the brain for speech unlike other cultures and languages. They focus on the creative side of the brain, the part for pictures. This makes communication VERY efficient if you learn it fully.

this is probably a first step in GUI for all OS's.

Haha, can't argue with that, next time I'll cut open the packaging lying down, on a plastic sheet, lol
