yahoo.com does NOT offer free POP3 access. In case you paid for it, the steps are the same with different parameters. and you can get all that from your yahoo account email settings page. [addsig]

Maybe yahoo.co.uk does offer free pop3 but for yahoo.com you have to subscribe to the Mail Plus service cause I get only the option to check external pop accounts. Here's what the Help page has to say

"Can I use Netscape, Eudora, or Outlook to send and read my Yahoo! Mail?

Yes! Yahoo! Mail users can read their Yahoo! Mail messages in Netscape, Eudora, or Outlook by subscribing to the Yahoo! Mail Plus service. This service allows you to use Outlook, Eudora, or another POP3 client to access and manage your Yahoo! Mail and also includes the ability to:

* Automatically forward your Yahoo! Mail to another email account -- even another Yahoo! address.
* Send messages up to 10MB in size
* Send email without the Yahoo! promotional text at the bottom.

Once you have subscribed, you're ready to set up your Yahoo! Mail account to read your messages in an email program. Click "Mail Options," choose "POP Access & Forwarding," and follow the directions. "

@jalf if you do have yahoo pop access then simply follow the standard pop account setup:

Username: only yahoo id (without the @yahoo.com)
Incoming server: pop.mail.yahoo.com
Outgoing server: smtp.mail.yahoo.com
Check the Use SMTP authentication box

Fishy: Minimum order is 5 units. I'd assume the price advertised is a HUUGE bulk order, without VAT paid in cash... from there on prices would probably go up... a lot...

Apart from that; I've never heard of them... so there could be more fish in the sea.

Too right.

Look - for everyone so that its simple, every uk company has to be registered at companies house. This site purports to be a subsidary aof AXUS Ltd. If you go to the uk companies house online site, there is only axus uk ltd and they are in liquidation!

I would not trust them! Something is fishy! They sell a Sony Ericsson W950 for 270 euro. There is no way that phone can be more expencive if there isn't a catch or they just trying to get some quick money and leave the country.

I gave up on the P990i. It was a horrible expirience. Slow, unstable, not very many good apps.Im glad i sold it.It was just too much hassle for a 600 euro phone. The performance was truely dreadful. Only thing i was happy about was the call quality.

Its left me wondering what now? I loved my p800,p910i to death!!!!The p990 raped the love i had for the series.

I´m agree with everybody regarding the poor results given by P990. Very disppointed with SE. Slow, unstable, not any good enough application. The problems are not related with the provider. I live in Spain and my provider is MoviStar, and I have the same problems. You can see that also here we have a lot of problems (http://www.clubsonyericsson.com/foro/index.php/topic,14254.0.html --- sorry, in Spanish).
Has anybody any idea about how to make pressure over SE for solving the problem or giving back our money??????

thanks jedi for the correction.......

i tried to play a video file converted to 3gp format and then mp4 format.... size about 50 mb and i found that i took me around 2-3 minutes after i open the file, it began to play ... actually i thought that the phone had hung and so i left it to attend to a patient and when i came back it was playing the video......

i am surprised to see that people are not having problem in playing video files from the memory card....

If as some members belive, Sony Ericsson actualy read this stuff ,then they will already be well aware of the problems the "enthusiasts" are having with the P990i.

Unfortunatly the reality of the situation is, that until the network providers start getting large volumes of P990's returned by their corporate clients nothing much will change, this is afterall a business device designed to be an extension of your office environment.

I know for an absolute fact that there are hundreds of very disapointed corporate users at present (Vodafone use tech help desk to support the P990i at present) and they tell me that they are getting hundreds of calls per day.

(in fact they if you call with a pi**ed off voice they will ask you "do you have a P990i" before you can tell them what the problem is you have dont take my word for it call them 08705 237237 and see for yourself!)

I asked the 1 st line guys if they have had many calls for comms managers, the guy and girl I spoke to just laughed and said yes hundreds!, so I hope will start to have to take drastic action soon at least I hope so.

I suggest those having problems do what I did and send an email outling in detail what your problems are, I can see no practical alternative, sending the phone back to Vodafone is not a route I wish to go down as all they will do is keep it until the next FW release install that and send it back and I can do that for myself. I knew there would be problems (look at my old posts) but I never expected them to be this bad with a device that means so much to and their business customers.
