So, anyone knows when the phone is going to be available in the UAE, dubai ?
I want to grab it before going back to the US so I can record videos at 30fps.
And also if you are nice enough to recommend some stores and prices feel free to do so.

Any chance of a picture of X1 running tomtom ? (and/or garmin)

sure, always happy to please. These are random London shots as I don't really want to show where I live

btw, I really do prefer the Garmin interface and only use Garmin dedicated GPS' too

Garmin XT

TomTom 7

Thank's for the pictures, but I'm with Xperia now (silver, same FW version as yours). So time to experiment!

Where is letter recogniser/transcriber ?? (swedish model X1)

hi all,

Its been a long time since i have been on this board, the last SE phone i had was a P800, since then ive had various HTC phones. Anyway onto the question, does anyone know if/when orange are going to get th x1?

Not sure how reliable this info is (it came from a orange store assistant!) but they are hoping(!) to get it in mid november and THEN start testing it! The girl said orange were hoping to release it before xmas...

Just spoken to CPW, they have offered to match O2's current price of £99.99 handset on an 18 month £35.00 per month contract, including unlimited mobile web browsing.

I'm very, very tempted - seeing as I'm already with CPW and O2 still have no stock!

I find CPW's handset insurance is a bit expensive compared to O2. Plus CPW only have a quarterly payment for this, as opposed to monthly for O2. The chap I spoke to at CPW said I could take the handset insurance from O2 directly, instead of going through CPW. Has anyone ever heard of/done this?

Thanks
Dave

Time to start a bugs topic ?

1. Bluetooth turns off by itself, happened twice now in one day. I use it to connect to my car (Audi) and my headset HBH-IV835.

2. Letter recogniser/transcriber missing in the swedish version.

I have my X1 too!

WOW!

This is a stunning looking piece of kit! The screen is irresistable.
I just keep picking it up to feel the solid metal.

Now all ive got to do is figure out how to make it work.

Found this on page 20 of the English manual.

1. Yes, I have noticed that bluetooth doesn't seem to be very stable. It also often takes a very long time to find other bluetooth devices.

2. Yes, it's missing. Unfortunately I think it's meant to be missing.

And for that bug list. I have written down about 20 topics that could be better. But only a few of them are real bugs as I see it.

What I don't like is that I can't see the exact time for SMSes that are older than one day as long as I have the chat-view on.

If you want I can send the complete list to you. It is in swedish, but that would probably be no problems for you.

Here's a question for all you owners: now that you have your X1, would you say that the product justifies the price you paid for it? Or, given the choice, would you have gone for something cheaper (e.g. the touch diamond)? I suppose this doesn't apply if you got it on contract, but for those who didnt, anyway.

right cool, thats the thing im never patient, i just bought an n96 two weeks ago for 450 pounds what a dissappointment, now i want a change

ive never had a win mobile phone before. quick question how would i update the software of the phone i think its what u call ROM, my x1 will be unbranded and unlocked so no operator software will be needed when updating so would a direct update from sony erricson website do? and how easy is it to update and do things go wrong and ure phone turn into a brick?

for those who have the black one does it not look like two phones been stuck together with the black screen and silver keyboard contrast?

sorry for so many questions but ive never had a win mo phone before so quite scary
