I mentioned ABSA's internet banking charges about a year back on this thread, but can't be that bothered to search for it now using my P900,while I wait patiently for the broadband internet to be activated at our new shack. If I remember correctly,ABSA is/ was charging just under R20 a month, before I terminated my ABSA account back then.
I've spent most of yesterday and today wiring up the lounge and Mrs A's music studio for Dolby Pro Logic surround sound with Gale speaker-wiring.What a boring,time-consuming and monotonous job!
Oh well, hopefully be worth it when I finish installing the remaining hardware tomorrow, pop a DVD in and crank up the volume...
@ da brixsta,
N70 still on the horizon?

Yep, like I said in another post the where I signed on for my new contract tell me they'll only have fresh stock after June 10. The wait is pretty annoying.

Just read my previous post and I'm embarassed, this happens quite a lot- I write gibberish. It's probably because I'm always in a rush when posting.?@bradboy: Haven't decided whether I'll sell the P910. Won't quite call it a precious, it's a workhouse but definitely not precious.??PS: Went to an MTN dealership at Canal Walk and the shortage of N70 stock seems to be widespread.

There seems to be quite a few UK Summer cellphone clearouts on the go at the moment.
The Link is currently running 2 good online deals for PAYG, namely the 6230i for £99.99 (approx R1150) when you trade in your brick and £49.99 (approx R570) for the Moto L6 + free B/T headset.
www.thelink.com
Carphonewarehouse are flogging their RAZR stock for £84.95 (approx R1000) when bought with £10 airtime.

@786KBR: Two accessories which seem quite cool are the MPS-60 mini speakers and MM60 cables which allow you to connect your W810 to your HiFi system.?@da wanqsta: How you settling into the new crib? Met the neighbours yet?

@ da brixsta,
Yeah we're settling in well, still lots to do though re personalising the house as we want it etc.
Most of the house's decor is pretty neat,so there's no rush or need to alter anything dramatically.
Still haven't coupled up the home theatre stuff yet and tonight I'll try to get these and the DVD recorder, video and Sky Digital receiver to communicate with one another.
I've never been an avid gardener, but the property has such a damn nice rear garden that it'd be a shame not to maintain it to the very high standard that the previous owners had,so I guess I'll have to start developing some 'green fingers', and not just from picking my nose...
The neighbours are really cool; within 10 minutes of offloading the first van-full of our stuff the previous Friday, the one neighbour brought us a 'welcome & congrats on your new house card'.
The guy's a high school science teacher and his wife is from Thailand. She's already invited us for a 'proper' Thai stir-fry etc.
The neighbour on the other side was also particularly welcoming and came over out of his own to introduce himself, so we certainly have been made to feel very welcome in our new local community.
Over this past weekend,we took the neighbours, estate agent, mortgage advisor and previous owners, who had left lots of furniture etc. for us, hampers filled with SA goodies bought at one of the SA shops closeby,as a kinda personal thank you touch.(Romany Creams,Simba chips,Ouma rusks, SA chocolates etc.)
Oh, speaking of which, we were half-way to the car park when I suddenly thought about checking the 'message' on the PS chocolates; good thing we changed them... as giving them chocs with 'PS I Love You' or 'PS I'm A Secret Admirer' might have given them the er..wrong message.
The only other 2 PS slogans they had were 'Jy's Bakgat' and 'You're Superfly'... so these seemed somewhat better options, even if it means explaining the words 'Jy's Bakgat' to them, again direct translations wouldn't be quite fitting without understanding the expression....

I'm on the N2 highway and guess what happens near the airport turn-off? A truck loses it's cargo of beer, everything comes to a standstill as people help(loot?) themselves to free cases of Black Label. Some of you know my feelings towards Black Label, I sincerely hope all the looters wake up with heavy hangovers tommorow.

LMAO brix, I'm imagining the scene and can't help but laugh;hope traffic to (and around) the airport and beyond is not too severely affected...imagine if it was Amstels instead of Black Label...

Don't even go there my brother, even if it was Amstels I couldn't bothered getting out of my car to pick it up, it's enough that I have to chase after women.
