@nightblade Thanks. I'm sort of convinced that its only the black version that is problematic.

Hmmm . . . After bothering to read quite a number of posts in this tread, I only can shake my head in disbelieve at SE. Wasn't this the company which was supposed to trump Nokia? Thanks God I did not buy this crap and kept my trusted N95 8gig.

Mario2004 most conveniently passed down the build quality and software issues the n95 faced in the beginning.Even the 5800 is facing an earpiece problems. Its all over the net. just search and you have 2000 entries staring at you. |

He talks about n95 1. Nokia made that device a few years ago prior to the 'real' N95 You see, exactly this is the difference ! Nokia listen to their customers more then any other cell company out there. The N95 8gig is a direct result of just that. Of course the crapy n95 1 with the small screen is long history. Some chaps still use them to this day and still have some value. (nokia devices unlike other companies, keep its price better - no arguing)

Nokia just have more resources for such things because they have stayed on the market for longer than anyone. Comparing Nokia and SE would be like comparing Toyota and Mazda

And how about the lens cover for the camera? Why on earth remove this on the N95-2 when it was there on the N95-1?
What i think is one of the most important things some genious removed from the phone

Of course the n95 8gig is not perfect. Never mind the lens cover, (the lens is slightly recessed anyway) but the biggest short coming is the absence me wimax ! Nokia has the tech but they blatantly refused to incorporate it. The most stupid reason they gave me after lots of emails was - wait for it - 'nokia is concerned for people miss using the technology !' What they actually ment was, Nokia does not want me to use wimax like wifi and connect my cell to my home network from 10km away. (few know people know wimax can be configure to work like that and in so doing, one can make dirt cheap cell calls over the home internet connection.in essence one has his own, illegal cell tower at home.)
Back to this tread - in a few hours SE will announce a appaling 4th quarter and I am curious to see how they are going to pay Ericsson this time around. (at the beginning at each and every year SE has to repay the parent companies) Sony themself will post a 1billion + loss and I don't thing they can afford not to get anything from SE this time around. As for the C905, I still think is too big overall for what it offers. In 2005 should have been OK, but in 2009 . . . Why on earth did SE not put a 2.8in screen on it? Size wise, certaily it has more then enough space. I only can hope for a s60 SE before this year is over

Well my last phone was a LG Viewty so its taking me a while to get used to typing on the C905 keypad. It could have been better I must admitt. |

I got a cheap PAYG Viewty as a spare while my C905 is at the repair centre.
Poor phone. The camera is no where near the C905 and the touch screen is impossible to text on.
Anyway now my C905 is being fixed for a second time should I keep this one? or should I sell up and go and buy a newer C905 or do they still have issues?
I can't stand any other phone so I will have to make do with the C905.
The C905 is great apart from faults.
