I love South Africa because we're a country of so many ironies at times you can't help but laugh. Zuma wants to become president, this is how we deals with HIV/Aids.

The Guy that rape someone? Which party? What are his chances? I remember seeing his supporters in front of the courts during his trial... |

@coola: The chances of Zuma becoming president are minimal. If you look beyond the rethoric there's no substance to what he says. Point of correction: He was acquitted on the charge of rape because there were just too many loose ends in the State's case against him.
@786KBR: Agreed, let's kill this futile debate about Blokia vs SE...some people will always love them, some people will always hate them.

Howzit everyone I didn't have a chance to pay a visit here for the last two days(No airtime). But hey l've gone through what you guys have been talking about.I also think that this thing of Blokias and SE should be put to rest! Well today it was my bosse's wife's birthday and guess what...He made us all sing the stupid happy birthday song.I really got so pissed off.He should have sung it for her not us,she's his wife afterall.I really hated it.I believe that he should have asked us if we'd like to sing, not tell us.Some bosses know how to abuse their authorities! l'm off to bed bafowethu!

Look at it in a more positive light... the coerced rendition of Happy Birthday may provide the leverage needed to coax a substantial increase from the boss dude next payday...
At least you have a boss whom you can face, not some faceless entity like those of us who work for bigger concerns like the State. We have to dance to their tune all the time knowing full well we're not likely to see an increase or improvement in working conditions as a result of renewed efforts. A good example: somebody in Bhisho bungled, so resultantly a few hundred educators in my region now have to go to the banks, Home Affairs, etc etc to get copies of our identity documents, title deeds, proof of bank accounts, licenses etc because they've "mislaid" that which we've provided over the years. Whoop de doo, oh joy... The notification of this development came thru on Thursday, has to be in by the end of next week, this at a time when we're preparing for exams, marking, rounding off of admin work, and so forth... Believe it or not, I started internet banking today...I've actually signed for more then a year but never used it because I was scared of all the scams around.
@da krypsta: I feel for you my brother...I hate admininstrative things, in the next couple of weeks I have to fill out my tax return...no, guess what? I'll do it on the internet.

Do you guys still have to pay for internet banking. Here in the UK its free - no service charges at all. I do absolutely everything this way - pay all my bills, transfer money to other accounts etc.
If I need cash I go to an atm or get cash-back at the checkout when doing groceries. You can even get cash-back from some corner shops. If I need to speak to someone I call the telephone banking part of my bank. While typing this I had to think very hard to recall the last time I set foot in my bank and it is well over 2 years or so.
Regarding security, its as safe as chip-and-pin can be, but there's always someone that will find a loophole same as with anyting else.

I seem to remember when I used to bank at Volkskas (oops, sorry, ABSA) and internet banking just started, there was a monthly fee that you got charged.

There probably is a fee charged for internet banking but it's so minimal that I hardly notice it on my bank statement.
