nope there is no half baskets there you have to take a full basket of 100 apples

heres my crappy calculation..
50x = 2500 x 100
100
50x = 2500
x = 50

heres my stupid attempt
50=(100x- x)100
50=x(100-1)100
50=x(1000-100)
50=x(900)
x=0.55 baskets

wait wait wait... sencond try
100x is total number of apples (x is the number of baskets)
so after 1 step the total is:
100x - x
then after 2nd step
100x-2x and so forth
till the 100th step
100x-99x
we are trying to reach 50 therefore
100x-99x=50
x(100-99)=50
x(1)=50
x=50 baskets!!!

Yes, I am afraid, there have to be 100 apples in each basket.
Don't worry about the formulas just think of the whole scenario and you will get the answer. This is no trick question though.
