While we r on d subject of phones, I need to recommend camphones to subs of my e-zine. The standard is of course the SE T610. The price must be less than 30k. What phones do u think r as good as or better? And why? I really need ur responses.

Sagem my x6 and x7 are in my list. I hear my x6 is very similar to T610 but for lack of java games. Which is not too bad bcos most of us dont play games anyway. Any Nokia? Any Moto? I doubt if any Samsung will make my list.

D x6 & v55 r perfect.U can look at nokia 7250i, alcatel 735 (both below 30k). Price disqualifies d samsungs,moto & other nokia.

Thanks alot. I hope they can do what my T610 can. I was shocked at what the Samsung D410 could not do! At such a high price. Robbery! Lets move on: do u all know it takes a minimum of 7 page loads to get here from the Glo wap page? How do we reduce it and save money? I have also confirmed that u can browse with zero naira . That is a big relief.

@coolapostle. Most Samsung phones, like most Nokias, r overpriced toys & not serious tools.
Create a bookmark of d Esato forums (or Proudly Naija) entry page on ur phone, or use it as ur homepage (I have my mailbox login page as my homepage). U dont have to start browsing from ur homepage. If u create d bookmark, go to bookmarks from standby, select where u want 2 go & hit "go to" or whatever. U can create bookmarks to quite a number of pages.

Yeah, with some bookmarking I have reduced it from 7 to just 2 pages. Necessity is the mother of invention. I also found out that the little glo logo was 2 kb in size! Thats a cool 1.40 naira everytime we start there. I have stopped pictures from showing on my pages. I cannot confirm if it saves anything yet bcos I an browsing on zero right now.

Disabling images DOES save u money. Some images are larger in size than the page itself. D way it works is: d page (say 1.5kb) loads 1st, then if enabled, d image (say 2kb) loads! Plus, cutting down from 7 to 2 pages should also mean more savings. Well, when next u reload, buy enough airtime value to cover this your N0.00 browsing! The Glo taxman will be waiting

Zero browsing means glo allows u to browse even when ur credit is zero, but when u load later, ur bills are promptly deducted! But like I said in a post dis morning, they are changing dat, such dat when u run out of credit, GPRS becomes unattached on ur line.

The only thing I regret in disabling images is not seeing smileys in posts. On the billing, I thing Glo keeps count of our data too. Good idea to let us browse like this. Do u know that the naija forum at twilightwap has not had any new post since the 16th of november? We here have survived this billing wahala.

Even when browsing was free,I didnt visit d twilightwap forums much.Esato breeds some kind of allegiance, u know, esp for SE users.
Just went thru d entire Naija thread there: they sounded like a bunch of kids desperate to survive , at least until coolapostle (ajsagia) showd up

Two things I regret not doing when MMS was free: not uploading as many pictures as possible to my online album at textamerica.com and not insisting that u guys send me ur pix! Only Aya sent me his. If I insist now, u guys will scream about ur 60bucks! I think the MMS tariff will be reduced later. What is ur ideal tariff ppl? How much will u feel very comfortable with? Mine is 20 bucks!

I havent done any calculations, but 20k per kb for browsing sounds just as good as N20 for MMS :-D
