lol no, in the malay language "orang" means people, and utan sounds similiar to "hutan", which means jungle. Therefore orangutan sounds like "orang hutan", which translates to jungle people
EDIT: btw, i know this becoz im originally from malaysia, and i think we still have the largest amount of orangutans in our forests. y'know, just in case any1 wondered y a person in australia knows about malay LoL
