I'm starting to think we will see another xperia compact at MWC. Here in Sweden we currently have huge discounts on both the z3 models which conveniently ends right before MWC in Mars. |

Maybe it has to do with poor regional sales of the Z3 line. Now that a bunch of new devices are going to hit the shelves in a few weeks it's time for "clearance sale".
BTW: Z3 goes for 460€ and Z3C for 400€ here in good old Germany. Would be kinda strange if there would be a massive discount just on the Z3, but not on Z3C meaning you would get both devices for the same price. |

Maybe. I just bought the z3c for 200€ (and got a free smartband) and the regular z3 is 300€ so it's really a clearance sale.

Could be faster, bit smaller Z3 (lets call it Z3S) or some new Z3 with the size between Z3 and Z3 compact |

The only thing that could be true in the info you gathered is that z3 successor could be called z3s or whatever name (not z4) and that it could have smaller dimensions with the same 5.2" display size. that's all. the possibility that sony is not going to announce a z3 successor does not really exist if they want to survive. i guess that sony tightened their no leak policy even more.

I think there's no z4 because of s810 heating problem. I think they will use SD820 for Z4 and Z4 will be unveil at IFA |

I'm trying to find sense in your speculation but i can't.
ALL the oem ARE very soon going to release s810 flags and you think sony will be the only company who will pass on it let alone wait until ifa for their next flag. it's a sure suicide. if true, they better sell their mobile division right now asap.
what i'm saying in other words is that at mwc sony IS going to announce a new s810 device, be it z3 successor (most likely)/z3c sucessor/z ultra successor (both not likely). the naming doesn't really matter.
i think that when there are no leaks there is a tendency to make up stuff that are detached from reality. it's like some sites said z4 was to be released at ces which was ridiculous. made up stuff to get some traffic.

If no Z3 successor is announced, then Sony can just start packing the mobile division's bags and prepare it for sale.
Releasing a Z3S would be foolish, since it might make people thing it is only a minor update, similar to what apple does, 5 to 5S.
Whatever happens will happen, I'll keep my Z1 to the fall if I have to, or maybe change devices if Sony doesn't deliver. |

Actually it makes sense. Just put SD810 onto Z3 put some RAM and fix the imaging software, release the Z3 Ultra and Tablet put SD810 on board also. There you go. At IFA release the kraken.

Whatever happens will happen. Will wait to see how good lollipop is on my Z1. I have my Z3 tablet compact and am eagerly waiting for 5.0.
Xperiablog is also reporting no new flagship for MWC, saying the thing on the FCC was a midrange device. Claiming that the Z3 will just carry on with no upgrades.

Thing is, Sony already lost marketshare, releasing nothing new to battle the S6, M9 and G4 will be a grave mistake. Perhaps the overheating issues on the 810 are to blame or Sony would rather just release once per year and do it in the summer? The site claims other trade shows but I don't think any of those are good for mobile releases. Maybe Cebit but is that known for smartphones? Computex is out, that's laptop domain. Has anything noteworthy been launced at CommunicAsia?
Unless Sony will opt for a standalone event like apple does but then where to hold it? Japan? Europe? USA?
If Sony opts for no new Z4, I feel their market share will drop even more and might not even recover. |

I still don't believe it. notice that xperiablog doesn't link any source for their info = not reliable at all.
until now the only credible source with almost perfect track record is huyi and second are some twitter mobile leak pages. when huyi or them say there is no z3 successor in H1 then i'll believe. until then it's all talking with no base.
huyi, can you confirm this?
