Instead of paying for DaVinci use my free debranding tutorial and leave me a small donation if you wish so. For UK use Western Europe Generic.

You delete the folder and after running SEUS and updating your phone the folder comes back .

I have de-branded using Lollylost's free system & can confirm that it is really easy to do, just follow the steps he listed, good work. I removed the Vodafone stuff ( South africa), the splash screens at startup & shut down still remain, but all the Vodafone stuff in the OS has gone
the deleted db folder gets re-installed after you run SEUS , the file to rename is not always exactlu 370 bytes, just look for the closest file to that size & replace that one.
make sure that your battery is FULLY charged before starting, cos u reinstall the software twice before switching the fone on again.
Lollylost, thanks, good work, im still working on the donation

Hi.. Would just like to ask if there is any SURE way to retain hacking without wiping out the system (ie retain installed apps, settings)? I did the hard-resetting way without realising that i was doing it, and the apps in the memory card won't install back properly. I did backup the data though, so I hope by flashing to older firmware, regaining the apps, and updating again, I can get back to the old apps..

Also, how do I restore my backed up messages? Restoring brought back contacts, notes, calendar etc but the messages are gone.

i highly recommend you to make a double hard reset to your phone (in R1CA037) and then hack it AGAIN only install helloox2 and proceed to hack it and so update to (R2....) and NEVER EVER restore ANYTHING before update but you'll get further apps problems (thats my own experience) the only setting i was dealing with was the contacts since i got 150+ :S but i rather to add one by one than have crashing apps

for your contacts you could save it into your micro SD and then port it trough xplore and for your sms i got int on my micro sd instead phone memory

Ok thanks a lot. Actually i already updated the firmware successfully with hacking still enabled.. Its just that most of my apps were gone. Was especially disappointed that my savegames were lost.. Spent a few hours on the games haha. Was thinking that once helloox2 releases a proper version with this new firmware i may try to flash back to R1CA037, restore my apps, and update back again. As for my messages, i'm not sure how i'm supposed to restore them. I did a full-backup with PC Suite (didnt uncheck anything at the selection screen), so its most likely the files are still there. Im thinking of manually copying the file, but does anyone know which file specifically points to the smses, be it in microsd or phone memory?

Btw many many thanks to the people in the forum.. I think you guys have done a lot.

I haven't seen anyone mention this, but have you noticed that the call log displays what type of number you called/received a call from? Now it's a symbol for mobile phone if that number is saved as a mobile number, and for regular phonenumbers it's a green phonesymbol. This is a new feature!

yup! Noticed that. It was a bug with the old firmware. Now glad they fixed that.
