Does anyone know what happens when you take an iPhone back for a replacement? Do you have to be the original buyer etc?
Anyone?
Cheers
If its Jailbroken apple won't touch it! or at least thats what my personal experience was of trying to get one fixed.

I have, its so easy to use.
However.....i was on 1.0.2 and decided i wanted to get on 1.1.3. So I viginized to allow me to restore to 1.1.1 and then jailbreak to allow me upgrade to a jailbroken 1.1.3. To cut a long story short, it crashed half way through, its took two days of just trying and trying over and over again to unbrick it (I was nearly in tears!))
Finally it worked ( didn't do anything different than the previous times! However, it unlocked the sim but didn't jailbreak it....I think I have the only one in the world!!! LOL) |

This looks to be the easiest solution to use for iphones which are 1.1.2 OTB... So may consider doing it... for a friend...
Just want to be sure
Cheers

Se-Naz,
Got my 16gb iphone last week and use Ziphone 2.4b to do everything. QUite straightforward, using full batch automatic under GUI. Less than 5 minutes later, my 1.1.3 OTB is unlocked, jailbroken and activated to be used with any sim card without XXXsim. Did it earlier on my 8gb iphone which is now used by by Missus. |

Apple event confirmed for March 6th for the "iPhone software roadmap"
"It's confirmed: Apple's next event is scheduled for March 6th, next Thursday. It'll be a Town Hall event; obviously new MacBooks and MacBook Pros aren't to be expected, but the unambiguous "iPhone software roadmap" and the image above should help guide our assumptions as to what will be discussed. The SDK's a given, but "exciting new enterprise features," eh?"

Hi I hope you can help or advise,
i have an ulocked iphone 1.1.2 (bought the other day CW) used iphoneunlockuk no i have a button called installer, which gives me options of adding other tools etc to my iphone, but if i add more that 3 applications buttons start to disapear on my home page, where do they go? can't scroll up-down-left-or-right to find them, is there another route to find them ? or do i have to keep uninstalling them so i dont lose the installer button?
thanks a lot in advance of taking the time to help
Regards

right, I just found out that O2 do a sim only deal (rolling monthly contract like I have with t-mobile) with an unlimited data package for £7.50 a month which is equal to t-mobile too. that data package surprised me as I hadn't read about it here before and have been assuming that t-mob was still the best.
anwyay, I've ordered that and will give it a go on the iphone as I'll then, at least, be able to use EDGE instead of just GPRS and if it works out well I'll port my number over to them.
I'll still be keeping my second t-mobile sim only/web'n'walk though... just in case!
was anyone else aware of the unlimited O2 data package for £7.50? I asked about fair use policy and was twice told there was none, its unlimited! so at least that should be recorded along with my telephone joinup chatter.
edit: ooops, just found a thread about it!

got my o2 sim today and put it in and went to configure the settings only to find that the EDGE setting had dissapeared and the iPhone was able to connect to the internet without me changing a thing. so I'm guessing there must be something built in to make this work when an o2 sim is inserted.
a bit worried, I put the t-mob sim card back in and the EDGE setting reappeared
anyway, although I have wifi at home I also have an EDGE signal in the area which is good news. Roll on the arrival of the 3G version though
