@Ravager
I can see where you're coming from, being thin, music-oriented and touch-screen the W960i might look like its nearest European competitor although the W960i does have a greater feature list without a doubt.
So sooner the better for Mobilebee is now citing 42 days as the estimated release date - which matches with your reckoning.

To me it feels like they rushed the P1i out to get it established before the W960 comes. Becouse the P1 and W960 have a common platform and hardware, except the 8gb flash, thay can use the P1i as a "tester" to detect faults and bugs. As a walkman flagship, W960 competes not just with the Iphone but with all other music phones and both Apple and Nokia have phones out there already, wich have alot in common with the w960. So it's crucial for SE to, when w960 comes out right into a fierce fight, it will be ready for it, it has to be perfect!

Well, let's not count too much on that and expect a perfect phone. After all, even after the P990 disaster and almost a year to fix the bugs, the P1 still came out carrying some of the bugs already detected on the P990. I doubt that the 2- or 3-month interval between the releases of the P1 and W960 will suffice to miraculously iron out the bugs.
But i'm hoping like all of you that the W960 will be as close to perfect as possible. After all, it'll have to prove worthy of replacing my long-time K750... |

The one thing im worried about on this phone which si preventing me from wanting it is the lack of lens cover. I can see it as a dust magnet. |

Judging by the "cons" found in P1, one may doubt the W960 quality especiall they share common platform.....

It does not really need that cover as it has really easy reachable lens to wipe it off even with your finger. Otherwise the P1i would have became too FAT with that lense cover.

@bytes
I was very upset with the review from mobile burn. Normally i hold them in very high regard but it seems to me that the reviewer was being overly critical, i want to even say that he had a bad unit, not because im a se fanboy but because most other sites had decent reviews of the p1i, also after playing with my own P1i for 2 weeks now, i did not experience 2/3 of the problems discussed in the review. Perhaps people want to much out of a device |

Yeah but is the camera lens system like the w810. The lens was behind a groove which collected dust. |

Can somone explain to me the consequences of its GSM frequencies? I live in the U.S. and have a p990 that works on T Mobile and with our blackberry server using blackberry connect software.
Will the w960 be able to work on T Mobile USA and with blackberry service?
Anyone? Anyone?
Thanks. |

Been an owner of a w900i now for almost 2 years, and it has no cover and i am a very hard user, the phone looks like it have been in wwII but i have no scratch on my lens at all and it's un protekted, and dust, just use your finger or shirt. it's better than a lens in a hole that you cant clean at all, remeber k700 and those?
haven't used a lens cover phone but i belvive that it would open in my tight jeans pockets? and that´uses battery and makes it easier to open after a while?

@lakessler
I have used several sony ericsson phones (k700i,w800i,w810i,k790a,and now p1i) on tmobile usa without any problems what so ever. With the w960i as well as p1i your missing the 850 frequency put unless your travel into the "boonies" were there is little coverage youll be fine. to be honest as stated earlier i have had no problems |

Yeah but the W900 lens layout is different. Its not behing a groove like on the w810, w960. |
