Does anybody know if there will be a flash player in the next update? |

They spent their time on removing autofocus from video than fixing the alarm...the volume is not the problem, but this is...

Will we also see the 'Back' button on the screen move from the down-left to top-right as we saw in P700 pictures and vids??
@ajack/ares,any mention on memory leakage front??how much on reboot??i still get "not enough memory" or something like that when starting opera...or opera gets booted when i open multiple tabs.

Ajack already showed this
I think this clearly shows what is gonna change, and that was not the final version. Remember ajack is using a proto p990 with less 4mb total RAM of our comercial P990´s

Without going through all of the pages in this thread - does anyone know if there is aaa working Blackberry Connect Client for this firmware yet? If so, I'm gonna borrow a work laptop and do the upgrade this weekend. |

yes, ares.. I can confirm the screenshot (seen myself the phone)
P700 is out in June... new R6 FW should be given to us in May 2nd or 3rd week is my guess...

@gango, is that a guess only???
From what i see, R6 seems to be based on a different OS code...the change in RAM from R5 is huge, i don´t see how they could do it without really deep changes in the OS. Also, task manager become a system process in R6

@ares,
yes it's a guess and the 'task manager' is hidden...
I do not think that we will see a new OS in the P990 at this stage (against all hopes ...), but rather a more manageable memory consumption of the internal apps.

Ok...my guess is June. And the task manager is hidden, because of becoming a system process (ajack dixit)

@Caspa, pay attention that is a P990, that normally has less RAM available than a M600 or a W950
Second, ajack´s P990 is a prototype, and has 4mb less in total RAM than our comercial unit´s
Then you just have to experiment in a normal P990 to put Opera, Aquacalendar, Messaging, RSS reader (plus open screen capture and sman) running at the same time - its impossible! Even in M600 i have my doubts, you can try it.
With ajack´s p990 and r6, he can do all that, and still has something like 2,4mb RAM free. In our case, it would be 6,4mb, because we have more total RAM, like i explained
One more thing, the Web application was checking ajack´s e-mail on Yahoo and RSS was taking 11 feeds. At the same time, he was sending an e-mail with attachment and was using wi-fi for my internet connection. So, the apps were not just loaded, and more RAM was being used

Sorry dude, I know its a P990, just wasnt 100% sure that I was seeing what I was seeing!!!
Just did a similar test on my M600, thats Messaging, Web, RSS Feeds and Exchange Activesync in lieu of AquaCalender and I have 4.2mb left!
So yes, I definately see the improvement!!! |

I checked with SMAN and it reported that I have in total 61MB NOT 64MB. Please check this to confirm. |

If ajack has the R6 fw why not ask him if he also has the Symbian 9.3 and then we don't have to 'guess' anymore if or not...
