Thanks masseur.

Counting down the hours, now, till tomorrow. Been eagerly waiting since February. Always had faith in this phone.

Its very refreshing at the moment, with new X1 owners being most helpful, and the "moaners and whingers" seeming to be taking a back seat for a while.

It would be great if ESATO could be like this again, as it was a few years ago.

Cheers again to all helpful folks here, and enjoy your E xperia nce.

@MWEB, thats my philosophy, leave as much intact as possible and since I already have USB-mini USB cable for sync/charge of other devices there's really no need to open any of the supplied accessories, nor the CD

definitly no lag in the phone with the exception, as mentioned a little earlier, when starting some of the more complex panels as they seem to require some initialisation to get going, but you're not going to be changing panels in rapid succession (except when trying the phone) so its a non issue really

can't comment on comparison with BB as I've always stayed well clear. Perhaps I'm blinkered but I've always seen BB as purely for push mail capabillity, though these days they're incorporating more capabilities such as multimedia etc to keep people interested, but I'm happy to schedule my email delivery and if I don't get the email for 5 or 10 minutes I'm sure I'll survive!

edit: @Astral1, well its important to have both sides of the coin but so far I see very little to be negative about. Also, while no operating system can provide everything for everyone, WM certainly has the community support to achieve almost anything you desire!

Yup.
I'm a Winmo Noob, but having been a member here for several years, and having signed up to XDA, ive been doing my homework, so to speak.
I now have a nice little cache of Winmo apps and games ive been collecting this last month or two.

Its just a matter of giving a bit of time for the clever XDA dudes to iron out any issues with the ROMs, and steal all the best bits from the HTC phones for us Xers to get.

Thanks again.

Something strange just happened to my X1. I was composing an mms and suddenly the phone shuts of, now it wont start up again. And when I press the ON-button red light from the side just flashed twice. There's no sign og charging or anything, just complete dead.

Any tips, or has someone else experienced this?

@mortengutt

Sometimes it happens, when the battery is really low, that you cannot turn it on (I mean any phone). Try to charge it for some time (5-10 minutes) and then turn it on.

This is the only thing I can think of right now to try.
I am not here and I am not there. Where am I?

I am keen get your views on the X1's physical feel & appearance.

For me it is the best Smartphone I have used from a physical characteristics perspective. Great size, feel & weight.

What do you X1 owners thinks? I also think the silver one looks more appropriate for the metal design then the black one.

I mostly agree....and I have the balck version but would prefer the silver.

Can anybody please recommend a good Calendar App. Something similar to Aqua Calendar for symbian?

Thanks
JD

its definitly got a nice all over feel and the keyboard spring is one of the most solid functioning springs I've felt in a device with slide out keyboard, both in opening and closing. Possibly a tad heavier than it need be given thats its only 50g lighter than the TyTN II

did anyone notice that not only does it come with plastic to protect the screen, but also the reverse side of the screen part has 3 separate protection plastic pieces?

heres a quite stupid question. X1 is kinda new thingy, so does it have a "normal" standby screen? i mean besides the X pannels, like any normal phone.. just time, date and a wallpaper. does it? AND can you set wallpapers on it?

P.S. is the screen glass or plastic? plastic is kinda scratchable :/

T-MO in the usa version?

I don't know who to believe. But in the X1i rev iew Modaco mentioned that the USA X1a. will suport AT&T and T-mobile.

I'm with AT&T but i'm glad for the T-mobile community. If that is true Xperia can build a larger follow up in USA, which is great for everybody.

Anyone can confirm or know better? WhyBe? Gforce23?

no questions are stupid when you're learning something new, but in fact there's little that is new here as windows mobile has been around for a long time

X1 comes with a microsoft panel which emulates the standard WM interface and show the date, time, count of unread messages, number of active tasks, calendar entries for next few days etc.

yes, you can change wallpaper or indeed install a whole theme. On WM they are .TSK files which compares with .UTZ files on UIQ.

The screen is plastic but if you have concerns then use a screen protector. I personally have never used a screen protector but it really comes down to how you treat/carry your device

@JD
Thank you very much for sharing your experience with me, I really appreciate it. It was very helpful as I currently have P1 and am a bit tempted with X1. Now I have a clue what I can expect.

HI. Is it true that the xperia doesn't have an equalizer on the music player from the media panel? no mega bass? :S

Yep, that's true. But I wouldn't worry about it, as it does have a nice bass by default.

but as always, its well worth investing in CorePlayer for this and many other benefits...

Wow, thanks Mizzle and masseur for ur attention I actually have the W890 and I'm gonna switch to this real soon, so I'm just wondering if its really worth it cos music is the top priority for me, hehe. Is the bass as nice as the MegaBass? Um, do you think that a firmware update would provide us more features, say, the equalizer? hehehe
