@mustu,

At the moment, the recent firmware had made it stable enough to be used as a daily phone. There are a few problems but i'm sure that the guys at SE will sort them out in due course.

My biggest niggle so far is I'm not sure the battery is up to the job. Mine goes through it in about a day and half.

I agree. I think the 9hrs talk time is exagerated. Well, atleast its longer than my N80 before.

If you don't have use for 3G all the time, try turning it off. I about doubled the battery life time for me.

Hi Guy,
OK so you may think my logic is incorrect but that is merely your opinion and most certainly is not mine. I suppose you believe all the people with problems are just whingers and that SE will fix these problems sooner rather than later and of course peoples reports of what SE support have told then re Voda and the PC suite and all the other things people are not happy with is just a big conspiracy against SE isn't it. I have a lot less faith than you appear to have but only time will tell who is correct so until i am proved wrong i will stick to my realistic view as opposed to your rose tinted perspective and not buy a P990.

Marc,

I have one and you don't so it would make sense my view is based more on fact then yours?

PC suite works fine with my voda handset but I downloaded the latest from SE. The problems you read of may be down to user error or problems with their PC. As I already said you will only really hear of the problems people are having on a forum like this. I'mnot saying the device is perfect because we know it isn't but I'd say it's comparable with any new phone I've had in terms of niggles.

Maybe you should try one for 14 days yourself and then comment.

*puts on rose tinted specs* :rolleyes:

@Dogman, care to explain WHY people should use the PC Suite that comes on Vodafone CD, or in any SE CD, when there is a much recent version available on SEīs site???

So, i just donīt get why people bitch about an outdated sofware when they can have an updated version that works without problems

@Dogman

this kind of backs up my theory that the delays to other networks are because all units are been taken by Voda.

"us lookin at the stock report an none in HO stock!

next delivery is 27th September.

so all stock is in stores. and voda av exclusivity on it for two weeks lol."

Anothing thing to gain more battery life, change the backlight brightness setting to 50% or lower. The screen is still very readable. The default 90% is very very bright!!

He He He... I keep the brightness level to 0% at home and 25% otherwise to make my P990 last for a full day... At 100% brightness it hardly lasted for half day... Will get a spare battery soon...

I'm lucky cause I have my old W900 battery (would have my K800 one but my girlfriend has that) I keep mine at 50% at the moment, seems fine.

Using Wifi seems to drain the battery, used it for 1 hour and it was going down like nobodys business

Will give it a full charge and retry!
