I have UK generic and it says i have the latets update and there isn't any updates avaliable

just checked OTA update and there is an update available. 41613657 bytes. Will do mine in the morning. (UK Generic).

The same update wasn't available via PC companion BTW.

Over The Air(i suppose), using the update option avaliable in your phone, without using a PC, i got it using wifi.

PC companion normally checks the Sony Ericsson servers every few days, so that wouldn't show the update straight away

If done OTA then you will not lose any data...
