1st pc downloads software then starts update from harddisk. Sounds ok to remove phone if seus says still downloading.

Make absolutely sure that you are holding down the C Button before you attach the USB cable to the phone. Then, keep holding it until you are advised to remove it. And, before you even start, make suer your phone is disconnected. I had no problems what so ever following SE's instruction. If you still have issues - Perhaps you should look at your P.C. and disable as many services and apps as possible. It doesn't take much for one app to interfere with another. |

My phone is branded to Optus (Australia). I want to flash it to the new R1BC002 but in the first post is says:
Quote:
| Please note that the latest firmware revision will not necessarily be installed by SEUS if you have a branded phone. Please see the bottom of this post for addditional information on UK branded phones. |
|
But in the list at the bottom it doesnt say anything about Optus. Can someone tell me if I will be able to flash my K750i to R1BC002?
Also which site do I go to, to flash UK or AUS? Because the firmware I have now says EU_1 and EUROPE_2.
Thanks a lot!

I'll put it in bold this time, so people actually read it!
If your phone is branded, in all likelihood you will still get R1AA. It takes time from the release of a new firmware for operators to test it on their networks, brand it and approve SEUS to distribute it.
It should be noted that it is not unusual for some operators to skip a firmware update entirely if they feel it has little benefit for their customers or if it fails their tests
As far as I am aware, noone here in Esato knows when branded firmwares for the major operators will be released.

It now seems that you cannot even re flash the current firmware you already have.
My K750I is on R1AA008 & the phone isn't working correctly, The memory stick is only showing half its capacity, It wont let me format it via the pc, the standard ringtones & themes are missing, bluetooth wont work correctly etc,
Im done a master re set all 3 sodding times & that didnt help either, Its just the same.
Using SEUS all I get is you already have the latest software installed, What happened to the option of reinstalling your current fireware that was there a few weeks ago?
I would pay to flash it back to RIL002 using Devinci but there servers been down for nearly 24 hours now.
Im seriously hacked off with Sony Ericsson, Im on my THIRD K750I in under 10 months, Its a brilliant phone when its working but the reliability of the thing is awful.
First ( well third ) & last Sony Ericsson for me. |

Like you I'm leaving SE. in 11 months the software has never worked - even 80%.
K500 -> K700 -> K750 -->> N80 = Goodbyee SE.

The trouble is trying to find a good reliable phone, So thats Samsung, Sagem & Motorola out for a start.
Are the newer Nokia's any good? The last 2 Nokia's I had where even WORSE then the K750I for reliability.
It seems the old Ericsson reliability has gone now that Sony are on board.
Im stuck with this K750I for another 3 months ( if it lasts that long ) & then its bye bye Sony Ericsson for GOOD. |

I updated my K750i and W800i yesterday using the SEUS. The K750i was always okay but the W800i always have a problem wtih the mps track listings.
Both phones now work a treat and one improvement I've really noticed is the camera takes a photo when you want it to, not after a short gap.
I had to download a pile of drivers (all done automatically) and I crashed my system once but it was all fairly straight-forward (I could never get it to update before).

Mate, my OPTUS BRANDED K750 HAS R1BC so it's worth a go.
So with all respect to Mwarner, not all branded phones only get R1AA There is atleast my own Optus branded phone that has received R1BC. Also, on htis thread I have seen some O2 branded handsets receive R1BC, and some receive R1AA, so while it TENDS to follow that branded phones only get R1AA, it is not always the case.
My sisters Vodafone branded K750 got R1AA when I updated a couple of days ago. I haven't yet heard of any Vodafone handsets on R1BC.

I can confirm that my Optus branded W800i updated to R1BC weeks ago. |

Did you have to do the 'Master Reset' trick which was mentioned in another thread on the Esato forums?
Also in 'Software Info' it says EU_1 and EUROPE_2 - what does that mean? |

no. Software was working fine after update and no reset was necessary. When I updated to R1L002 I had the mem card in the phone and it needed formatting after the update. I also had to master reset the phone to get the new software running smoothly.
But this time I took the mem card out before updating and didn't have any problems what so ever after the update.
