I've used the HTC squeeze thing and it sucks, it's totally unnecessary.
Now clarified by Roland.

There some UI on the edge of the display like the galaxy's and not on the metal frame.

I have read somwhere that LG POLED technology has improved. The new batches of Pixel 2 XL have better screen that the intial ones. And we all know Pixel uses LG's POLED. So I guess we should not need to worry about Sony's OLED screen. |

I hope Sony will introduce better thermal management on their phones. Samsung Note 9 is really impressive as it runs cooler that any of the phone in the market right now. My Xperia X Performance reaches 45℃ when playing demanding games with LTE on. This result in thermal throttling causing the graphics to become jittery . It is the same with current Xperias and it is quite frustrating.
Also, a bigger internal memory is welcomed. The 64 gb on ZX2 P is disappointing for a $1000 phone. A 128 gb internal memory should be the minimum size.
I m not trying to bash Sony here, but I have played with Huawei P20 Pro in a local store. And I cannot help but be amazed in size of the phone despite of its big camera sensor and big battery. The UI is smooth and has that light feel to it. Honestly, I am actually considering getting the phone on 2-yr contract.
The competition these days is very tight. The Chinese makers have finally caught up to the big players in the high end segment. I just wish Sony would improve their design. It is certainly Sony's biggest weakness right now. Plus, a bigger battery and a faster charging time are welcomed too.
And will XZ3 be available on contract through Fido in Canada? I guess not.

According to the measurement of tech sites, the oled from LG does not have black = 0,000000000000......
Which makes contrast unmeasurable.
Contrast is near 18000 ( auto) and 207000 ( manual).
If the screen is QHD it might be sign of pentile.
I hope it is RGB..
Weird GSMArena dis not post anything about the phone.
Heat pipes inside Note 9 are same of Z series ( I always thought only z5 had it).
I saw an article that tested the heat control.of N9, results are same of Note 8.
Samsung still limits the 4K recording. 10 min of 4k30 and 5 min 4k60.
I think X Performance does not have any, XZ does not...
Instead of heat pipes, Sony has graphite layer.
Reason why XZ Premium does not stop recording 4K.

Z phones had option to avoid rotation by detecting if you are looking at your phone.
I do not know if X series has it.
I own a Z1. I can tell that is useless.
Sharp grap sensors almost 100% accurate. Also, there are way more functions that turn on the screen. They just drop it with no reason.

LG set black level above 0000 because is necessary to define the EOTF of new devices that emulate CRT displays. Most content has been created for devices that can not reach absolute 0.
At least it is what I understand. |

Who cares.... probably will be XA2 Plus.
Regarding the thermal issues, everything above X series are great. Actually, Z1 ~ Z3, XZ~XZ2 don't have overheat problem. |

Nothing but guess work here but I reckon the camera will be lifted from the XZ2 Premium minus the monochrome sensor so expect 1.8 appature with the AUBE fusion processor on board

Very wrong, my Z3 has a very serious thermal problem.
@XJ: how could it have AUBE when it comes with only one camera?

It's just a guess but I reckon it'll have the same low light capabilities just with out the extra sensor helping along. It's certainly possible to crank the ISO levels crazy high. Suppose we've only a few hours to find out.

Oh, okay.. I hope it will have better low light capabilities.
Less than 30 mins to go!
