I know we haven't started a 2015 rumours thread yet but LG have announced a 20.7 OIS sensor which is likely to be a Sony sensor used since the Z1. My point is now Sony are letting LG use this sensor does that mean Sony will move on and use the new 2/3" curved sensor in the 2015 flagship Xperia. We've already seen this sensor in use in the KW11 so production is well under way to implement this in the Z3X/Z4.

The KW11 actually uses a 1/2.3" sensor, not 2/3". But yeah, since Sony is lifting the ban on the 20.7MP sensor's exclusivity, they really need to step it up. Either with adding some sort of hardware based stabilization, increasing sensor size, better autofocusing, or all.

All I'm saying is that the money I have saved up for the Z4/Z3X or what ever it's called is going to the Nexus 6. It is too beautiful to pass up. Also, Sony should introduce a new Ultra device already! |

Yeah now even the Nexus is 32GB and 64GB, Sony must do something, Apple already skipped 32GB directly to 64GB and 128GB after the low cost 16GB

@Xajel I thought they skipped the 16 GB?
@MNX1024 Damn Sony should, everyone's going for the phablet size, even Apple who ate their words. Dunno why they skipped the Ultra line, hopefully for something better.

The fact the nexus 9 has a keyboard has me already sold. Really hope it is sold in Poland, if not will have to get my brother to send it from Canada. |

That Nexus 6 is a stunning device. If the Moto logo on the back were non-existent I would be all over it.
I eagerly await Sony's reply.

@ascariss No need to import it from Canada. Do a trip to Germany in next weeks and buy it at Media-Markt or Saturn (biggest and most spread tech/multimadia-stores). Price (also on Amazon.de): 16-GB-WiFi-(399,- Euro), 32-GB-WiFi-(489,- Euro) and 32-GB-LTE (569,- Euro). |

No matter how ground breaking the Xperia Z4 turns to be, Sony will be shooting at their foot, once again, if they don't make 32/64 Gb default models, and release it with Lollipop BUILT IN.
Xperia S was 1 version behind, Xperia T was 1 version behind, Xperia Z was 1 version behind, Xperia Z1 was 1 version behind. The Z2 was kinda of a version behind, and the Z3 wasn't because there wasn't anything new yet.

Announcement of Z4 should be around MWC, so we're talking about a timeframe of 4 month. Imo enough time to implement version 5.0 and also to push the Lollipop update to older devices like Z2/Z3. CES announcement is truly another story. |

Waiting for Sony's announcement for their 5.0 update plan, though I think it's safe to say that the Z2 and Z3 lineup would get it and probably the Z1 as well. The first Z though...

Indeed. 4 months is more than enough. HTC will do it in 3 months. Same for OnePlus. However...
I know the Xperia S was release in a really complicated time for Sony, but:
October 19th 2011 - Android 4.0 (ICS) was announced and released.
February 29th 2012 - Xperia S is released in the first country, with Android 2.3.7
June 21th 2012 - Xperia S is updated to the Android 4.0.4 fw.
8 months, 2 days after the announcement of the next Android version, their flagship is updated to the latest.
Maybe I went back too far? Let's move forware 1 year: The Xperia Z
October 30th 2012: Android 4.2 is announced
March 1st: Xperia Z is released in Hong Kong
June 24th 2013: Xperia Z gets the first Android 4.2.2 OTA
7 months, 24 days after the announcement of the next Android Version, their flagship is updated to the latest (exactly 1 month before 4.3 is announced.
