For the 2015 thread, I too see it too early for it now, maybe mid-november or at least when we have some solid new rumours about Sony's 2015 plans, I think what we know about Z4 is not enough for a good 2015 thread start.
I agree, not before November it's about 2015.

can't start 2015 thread too early as Sony's no-leak policy is doing its job |

It would be better to wait a bit for founded and more believable rumors of next z devices or for some info by insiders here before opening 2015 thread. sony is great at keeping secrets but i guess maybe we will have early rumors sometime next month and if not then, in december for sure. current rumors are too fishy. |

It's rumoured that the Z4 will be a bigger leap away from the Z3 than say, from the Z3 and Z2. If this is true then no wonder there is so little info flying about right now. The Z4 must be something special.

same thing was rumoured from Z1 to Z2, but we all know how it turned out to be. let's just wait and see |

I would consider SD810, better camera, 32GB ROM and Android L with new Sony UI as a big leap. Personally that would justify an upgrade from Z3 to Z4. Everything else like 4GB RAM, QHD Display, Wireless Charging... is a nice "add-on". |

Here is one rumour for next year's thred. My Sony ADM and his boss told me and few others in the same room (on a bus actually @ a Z3 promo tour) that Sony as of next will move to 9 to 10 month refresh cycle rather than 6. Starting @ MWC in March then CES in January 2016 then IFA in September 2016 and so on.
I'm so happy 'cause today I've found my friends ... They're in my head

That sort of makes sense. The six month cycle was so they could catch up with the competition. Now, they're surpassing some of it.

9 or 10 months cycles give Sony lots of extra time to make the successor a real upgrade. Good decision imo.

@XperiaJunkie
This will be better than 6 months, and a step closer towards 12 months cycle which IMHO is the best choice...
but having a 9-10 months cycle will break the upgrade plans for many as most peoples has 12, 18, 24 months plans... it might fit the 18 months plan ( every other phone in a 9 months cycle )

It's neither good or bad imo.
With the six month cycle, at upgrade time, you'll always have the choice of a pretty recent phone. With twelve months it's possible your only choice could be ten months old.

Should be better than just 6 months IMO. I guess the reason why some people did not welcome Z3 warmly is because Z2 got delayed and it's like just 2-3 months after it got released and the Z3 got announced.

I think Sony should really think about the storage options in their high-end phones. 16GB is not an option for many of us; specially those who are always looking in the high-end phones.
They're already late as no international version had more than 16GB before (except Xperia S, which lacked microSD expansion)
Even HTC did it and moved to 32GB, why Sony can't ? They know even the us carriers are requiring more internal.
So I think it's one of two options
- increase the basic storage to 32GB for all high-end devices
- offer more than one storage options, 16GB and one more 32/64GB and I prefer the 64GB
