Regarding your phone and joystick.
The fault is not firmware related but the joy stick faulty.
I have had the same fault on 5 x k750i.
I have had to have new joysticks in them all. Some had firmwares updates before and some didnt.
I do know that the K750 has a very poor joystick, Even SE knows this and have changed the joystick in the K800 to stop the problems.
Not sure why it happened straight after the update but i can tell you it isnt firmware related. |

Yeah, but how does that explain the power button, back button, 'C' button, two softkeys, and 1,2,3 buttons not working....?? hehe

Hopefully you can see why I labeled it 'under dispute' . I would very much appreciate it if others with R1BC could try this out for me and let me know the results.
Some instructions:
Download the following images:
1600 x 1200
http://img2.dpreview.com/gall[....]s/originals/010319-0950-20.jpg
2048 x 1536
http://img2.dpreview.com/gall[....]samples/originals/img_0596.jpg
3072 x 2048
http://img2.dpreview.com/gall[....]1/originals/030315-1453-32.jpg
Copy them to your phone over the supplied USB cable. Copy the files to:
:MSSEMCMedia filesimage
You should find that you can see all three images in File Manager / Pictures.
Select the picture of the boat, then select Horizontal. You should be able to zoom into this 1600x1200 image.
Try the other two images, which are larger than 1600x1200, and test the zoom functionality when in Horizontal mode.
On my R1AA phone, zooming does not occur. Users performing this test with R1BC firmware, please PM me or post your results here.

Yes, it has always had 8 levels.

i just updated my sisters K750 to R1BC and it works just fine except for the stability of the photoDJ. |

Bad news. I Just tested with those pictures - my R1BC DOES NOT zoom in on the two biggest pics, so the zoom bug on pics bigger than 1600x1200 is not fixed for my Optus branded handset.
Not happy

Just done some tests. So far I have tested the R1AA008 and R1N035 firmwares, neither of which can zoom into pictures >1600x1200. I am beginning to suspect that no firmware revision allows you to zoom into a picture >1600x1200, as R1N035 was released before the zoom changes of R1AA. I could be wrong, of course!
I have access to an R1A phone too (and possibly an R1L), so i'll test these when I can find their owners .

Interesting. Just tried an R1A044 phone, and that does correctly zoom into the 2048 x 1536 picture, but does not even display the 3072 x 2048 image.
Now looks like the zoom cap ocurred earlier than R1N035, but later than R1A044.
The only 'official' releases were R1J002 and R1L002, of which only R1L002 was widely distributed.
I would be grateful if someone with R1L firmware could test the pictures I have linked to above and let me know the results. |

shall i upgrade from R1N035? I dont mind about increased volume or faster rotatings of pics. Moreover with t new firmware the m4a tags are not read??? That's a huge bug... is the pics better than in r1n035 as they say from R1AA008
"Center Weighted Average metering used instead of standard Average metering to improve photos in lower level lighting conditions. "
althought the camera is still 4.5? How happen the camera is still 4.5 if such improvement has been made?
thanks

@biasiman
Well, read the first post and decice for yourself whether the changes are worth the upgrade. It's pretty obvious that R1BC offers a large number of fixes over R1N, but if none of them cause you a problem, but you consider the MP4 tag issue important, then stay as you are. Personally I think R1BC is by far the best firmware so far, despite it's occasional flaw.
I don't suppose anyone with R1L has tried my zoom test yet have they? |
