So, not a rumor anymore. Xperia Z3 coming to Verizon on Oct 23. It has built-in wireless charging! But I am not sure if it is really based on Z3.

BUT THAT'S JUST THE Z2!
-3200 mAh, "over a day" battery which could mean it doesn't have the display cache battery saving tech
-ISO lower than 12800
-27 mm lens (Z3 has 25 mm)
-and the body is A LOT MORE like the Z2

Yeah, it really looks like Z2 with Remote Play and Wireless Charging added. Name is misleading.

They very well can't sell it as the Z2v now can they?
Verizon are simply retarded not to just have the regular Z3 on their, instead of wasting everyone's time and taking 6 months to get Sony to slightly redesign the Z2 to accommodate Wireless charging and add their asinine Carrier logo's everywhere. |

Hopefully the T-Mobile version would really be a Z3 variant.

Sigh, some things never change. Z2 is getting released now in the US. Sony won't win the north american market with this pathetic effort |

Hahaha wtf.
Awesome move Verizon. Wonder how this actually came to be, did Verizon choose the Z2 and ask Sony to add things to it or did Sony offer this to Verizon? While the Z2>Z3 is not a big jump really, wouldn't it be an easier move by verizon to just go for a normal Z3? which would probably receive faster OS updates than this Z3v thing.
Curious if T-mobile will actually receive the real Z3 and with the different colour options or will america get screwed again. |

quite a few VZ phones already have wireless charging package. it's not surprised that VZ version of XPERIA will have wireless charging |

Quit complaining guys! It's the same as Z3 but with Z2 design and wireless charging. Here's the official webpage link: http://www.sonymobile.com/us/[....]eria-z3v/specifications/#black |

I guess those guys who manages the Sony Mobile website just copied the Z3 specs and put it there. Don't be fooled, it's just the Z2 with the Qi wireless charging and PS4 Remote Play, and probably the IP65/68 rating. The whitepaper is the same as Z2's.

Hands on (android authority, etc.) say that the only difference is that verizon gets 32gb and wireless charging so the z3v is a modified global z3 and just look like z2.
anyway, the design is going backward as far as i'm concerned. global z3 design is superior but overall, i wouldn't complain if i was us consumer. they took the design but gave 32gb and wc. even.
the most substantial thing here is that FINALLY sony start selling the flags in more then 1 carrier AND they also improved the availability time in usa after the global announcement.
i think that next time they should drop the bomb at the global announcement event (probably mwc) and announce usa release date no longer then a month later and try to enter to 3 us carriers. |

I think Xperia Z3v is more like a combination of xperia z2 and xperia z3.It has the design, camera and battery of xperia z2,the SoC,ip certification,ps4 remote play of xperia z3 and qi wireless charging of its own.Btw,at 148.5x73.4x8.9 the device is huge!!!!Well,at least kudos to Sony for working more with US carriers.Sprint should get xperia z3 in november too(Softbank in Japan is getting one ).The more carriers the better. |

I doubt Z3v is based on Z3, because they don't market their two-day battery with Z3v. Which makes me think that it does not have the screen technology of Z3. But all in all it is a very good move for Sony. So, congrats!
