No, I didn't mention any hardware upgrades. And the other thing was a joke. I'd personally stick to the C905, if I still had one. |

True but still, if you think about it,
Who would benefit first from a firmware upgrade, a person that has just bought a phone that has come straight from the factory, or someone that already has it and would need to update everything.
I’m starting to think the earpiece fault could be software related somehow, as when i had it pressing the C button made it work, and i don’t mean pressing it hard to the phone to make electrical contact on a poor connection for the phone’s inside, i mean just gently applying pressure.

Me also.... I like this phone... no matter what... But also, I'm searching for other solutions....(phones)
Because I'm not a some kid anymore to satisfied with some GPS navigation...
All I want from this phone is good camera ( with good menu ) and some improve on security level.
For me is very uncomfortable use multimedia button, with private stuffs in phone, in front of other people,
or let phone to look pics to someone. It's just stupid. Enormously stupid.
If that phone try to be any smart, or maybe we can say try to be close to smart,
it's a big miss in that part.

On a serious note, is the thing Mizzle mentioned an updated version of his review?

If you had used the site search beforehand, you would have found out that that is actually the ambient light sensor.

But you must admit that's looks like camera on k800
(only without camera)
p.s.
I took 2 pics right now, one with finger on that sensor, and one without ....
they are same.

The ambient sensor is just a sensor who adjusts how bright your screen should be. sunny/night so to speak. It has nothing to do with the cam |

Yeah, of course they would be. It's the light sensor for the screen and keypad. It would make no sense for a camera light sensor to be on the side of camera the lens isn't on, now would it? |

I think the sensor is for the screen and it gets lighter and darker depending on lighting conditions. |

What is for " Display brightness " then ?
I can't see in menu, any "automatic by the sensor" option.
My is on 50 %.
EDIT
I tried in dark room now put the finger on it... There is no any changes

Well if you are in i dark room and put your finger over it dont you think the phone already knows it is dark?
Try to put your finger over the sensor in bright light instead if you want to fool it |

well i still think it's highly unlikely this firmware upgrade would fix the earpieces is it |
