Just noticed the weirdest thing!
For all those who use their P990i with the FLIP OFF, try placing the flip on top of the handset (where it would normally be placed) and watch the screen layout change. Check the pic out (it's a little late and my description may not be the best, but a picture paints a thousand words!)

Surely you've answered the question yourself?

footsie, have you tried updating your p990i or master reset?
After update, you are given a languange choice, and everything else gets deleted, except for English UK and American English.

Hi ijust bought P990 In Indonesia from SE Indonesia
and when i receieve the phone, it's already chinese enabled
after that i tried to upgrade the phone using SEUS
and the only option i can choose is SIngapore Generic
Phone:R7A001
Bluetooth:R4F01
Organiser:R2A05
CDA:R2A04
THe problem is that i dont need chinese and also i hate if my P-Series have chinese on it cause it made the latin font looks funny and not smooth,
i've tried master reset and format internal phone but still i'm stuck with the chinese Sad
can anyone help me to remove it on my phone ?
and also a weird thing is that i bought it from Sony Ericsson Indonesia but on the back insde the battery compartment, there is "IDA" stickeer
i think it supposed to be SIngapore set ?
another weird thing is that in the box it stated only EN hot EN/CHINESE
grr i;m quite pisseed of Sad
actually i dont mind having chinese input but i just dont like the way the latin fonts looks like it so tinny and not smooth Sad
I wish my avatar is an ERICSSON GF 388 NOKIA SUCKS!!!! |

@ footsie
I don't think SEUS would help, because the main software of the phone is installed that way anyway, just go back to Chinatown or local second hand phone shops in NYC and have it flashed into Sim Free Generic Version.
I think this will solve your problem
@ DEVONN the same goes to you.

FLIP OFF
Yesterday I took my FLIP OFF for the first time. The reason being P990 looked sexier )))) with the Flip Off.
But since my P800-P900-P910 years I have always used Flip Closed and now I'm trying to get used to P990 Flip Off. Comparing to my P910 I see that P910's Flip off mode is more user friendly than P990.
For example:
Just to TURN SILENT MODE, I have to press/click 4 buttons, where as I could do that with 2 buttons/clicks with P910
I want to be able to use my FLIP OFF as if I'm using it Flip Closed.
Experienced FLIP OFF users, please send me your experiences on how to make life easier on flip off mode ( I want to use FLIP OFF and but at the same time I want to be able to use the phone with my 1 hand and preferably with my fingers tips rather than Stylus pen.... Do I want to much ??????

Quickly press the power button, i think it brings up profiles etc and you can turn on silent mode there. Well its like that on most new s but I have had no experience with the 990 yet.

Keylock is easier to do if you just use the 'keylock' slide on the side of the handset. |
