@mikky: thanks 4 the link. but i have 2 disagree about ur 3rd term view. i hated military rule. but i'll be the 1st 2 say that life in naija was better than now. in hindsight, would i have prefered soja boys to stay? definitely not! why? cos change is needed for things to improve eventually. apart from marwa, who barely gets a passing grade from me, none of the other alternatives to obj look better. but we cant stay stagnant. obj has gone stale! |

The third tem brouhaha is getting more interesting. Atiku has been asked by Mr. President to resign due to his opposing stance and comments on the "alleged" third term bid of the Incumbent.
What do u guys think will unfold in the days to come?

@Abu:If Obj has done only one term and is standing for another term I'll be the first to vote for him for personal reasons. However,If Obj wasn't "stale"and had been the ultimate Nigerian messaih through and through;loved and reverred, and turns everything he touches to gold, but has completed the mandatory stretch as recommended by the constitution then,go must he.Nigeria is not governed by whims+sentiments but by codified laws and this has to be definite+adhered to otherwise it will be open to personal interpretation, manipulation+abuse. You just do not change the goal post during a game or when a goal has been scored.Obj might feel he's done so well as to be ensconced on the throne for ever but I ask, what was he elected for, in the first place? To fail? No!We elected(selected?)you to deliver in two terms and you have delivered(?!)so,messaih,GO!!!

@ifedisky, i so much love ur last post.. i wonder why these soja boyz are always drunk for power, Obj has been a military & a civilian ruler and has tried his best. the law says 2 terms and it would be plain selfish trying to amend it to favour personal ambitions.

Easy, your many questions are not e-a-s-y o! MTN MMS? Why not load small credit and see?
Meanwhile, I can now confirm that MTN GPRS is live in Uyo, Minna, Kaduna, Kano (parts of it in February) in addition to Lagos, PH and Lagos. It seems MTN is rushing to cover the 36 States in a matter of months.... and START BILLING.
Also Vmobile has extended free WAP/MMS till June 30th... so enjoy Guys.
And, oh, did I mention before that Glo is building a mast in my hometown? I will be going home for the weekend and may even be posting from there! Up Glo! |

@ifed: CORRECTION!!!!!: Nigeria SHOULDN'T be governed by whim & sentiments. Its a real shame the state of things we are in now. At the beginning of this whole handover to civilians i knew that the 1st 2 terms would be rough but I optamistically (naturally I'm a pessimist!!!!!) thought things would begin to iron out by now. But the crisis seems to be worse; worse power supply, worse water supply, worse education standards, worse health care, worse roads....... This could have been a very funny comedy if it wasn't real. And as much as I detest the idea of soja boys returning, doesn't it look like OBJ and his posse are asking for it? And what is all this talk of Atiku being pressured to step down??? did he commit any offense?? treasonable or otherwise??? These people are really miking me laugh!!!!
@easyd: half the people there dont know the difference btwn CSD and GPRS talkless know what is going on with thier data ambitions there.
@all: I would like to try out another PNF poll. Please try to post your opinion!!!!:
WHO DO YOU THINK IS THE BEST CANDIDATE FOR 2007?
Anyone you consider as a good candidate, whether that person has political ambitions or not can be posted. Please dont post your own names, as tempting as it may be!!!!

@Ifed : Did I get that right, I think your comments on Objs third term are spot on.
I also think, even if things are worse now than then under any military regime -which they are not- there can be no excuse for a return to military rule. A more incompetent group of illiterate thieves cannot be found anywhere this side of hell.

@egunj: What aspect of the common mans' life has improved or at least remained at status quo? Power supply? Health care? Education? water? Feul supply/prices? Job opps? The only thing that has really improved is the telecomm sector and in a sense it has been more of a curse than a blessing!!! |

@ Abu: Answering your question will result in my defending this government which is not my intention. A debate will ensure which will probably go along these lines:
I will assert that things ARE better with general inprovments in the quality and strenght of government and its institutions and you will seek to counter this.
However my point is that there should never be a point where we will be so diillusioned with things as to wish naively- in my view - for the return of military rule.

I'll like 2 thank ye all 4 welcoming d new members.
To me,Atiku seems not 2 be an honourable person.I think he should resign b4 castigating his boss.To do so while in office is not a good leadership example. |

First salvo:"If u dont like the government, step down".To Atiku, from Fani Kayode
Second salvo:"The call for resignation should be directed at the president for pursuing an agenda that is subversive of the constitution and the will of majority of Nigerians".Atiku's spokesman to Obj.
Verdict:
The die is cast!
@abubakar:The next president? What indeed are we voting for and what are the options?Definitely one cannot vote for a leader on account of his; fine shoes+Agbada,or high fallutin grammer.Or on the basis of their, percieved, uprightness+honesty+overall goodness. For instance,Akinyuli with all the ovation might appear a credible candidate to be voted for but if one,for instance, does not support the legalisation of abortion (eg)and she goes ahead and implements such,as the president, where does that leave her voters? To feel short changed and start calling her names?Tell me you'll buy me a pair of shoes,I'll weigh the options then,I'll vote!Let them bring manifestos, not their personal righteousness!

@easydee: ur validity period has expired, hence that message. Recharge ur account, and u'll be able to send mms. CSD wap is too expensive for me to even contemplate trying out. If u have a handset that is HSCSD capable browsing is noticeably faster than gprs. There are several people I can think of who'll make good presidents. 1. Marwa. 2. Donald Duke 3. Gbenga Daniels There's more where that came from. |
