k700i De-Branding now possible with T28 service cable ) |

I know the T28 cable is not expensive, but if I buy it I will need to wait 20 days for it to arrive, so Im asking if I can use the DSS-25 instead of the T28 to flash my K700, because it is damaged ( blinking)

Thought I'd let everyone know that I was finally able to upgrade and debrand my O2 K700i today. The problem was a low battery. I found another phone to charge my battery and was able to do the firmware and default language at the same with no problem on ToTal Multiserver 1.33. It's great, I have the latest from their site., R2AA003.

If only people bothered to read the instructions from faceoff, totalserver or terminator this thread would be 1/4 as long as it is..
I am glad you got it right Rune, but if you had done your homework you would have got it right the first time 
Cellular supports (may they reast in peace  ) forum was full of questions that in 9 cases out of 10 was already answered in the instructions provided with Terminator/DIV
I donīt get it, are people so eager and in such a hurry to get the job done that they donīt have the time to actually read the instructions?
I have unlocked, unbranded and upgraded numerous phones and it hasnīt failed once, except once i flashed a R520m with wrong language version  but after a reflash with the correct file it was ok.

I have flashed my vodafony branded k700i with Totalserver and with SE Remote unlocker 9.7(http://www.gsm-software.net/log/info.php)
I must say in my opinion that SE remote unlocker works much and much better. With Totalserver I had to do all the time the battery trick when programs say "press on". With SE remote unlocker it rocks.
SO no more totalserver for me. I even can now do update by SE.
I flashed to R2L001

Feck, is there any option to download the firmware and unlock files somewhere, and ram it up your k700 without paying for everything??
i payed 2 times to total server, and it simply doesn't work :| i can't connect to the server at all

De branded mine with totalserve no problems, after I got a t28 cable that worked. There seems to be a few doggy ones going around. The first cable just kept switching the phone on and off when I was asked to press the on button, even though I never touched the button. When I got it replace (free form irwebonline.com, where I got the broken one from)
Flashed straight away, didn't even have to press the on button, it just jumped to the next stage before I could pick the phone up.
Anyone having problems with totalserve must be them and not the software  |

That confirms what i have said earlier, make sure you have functional equipment, RTFM and it WILL succeed.

You or them. It doesn't matter. Bad things can happen. There are dozen of reasons why update, unlocking can fail with this online solutions. From top of my head: bad cable, problems with ISP, remote server is offline, smart card error, power loss, emmaii problem... And many more. All of the current unofficial solutions are totally dependant on many things. Using any of these solutions probably will never kill your phone that it can not be repaired - unless you flash S700 firmware to K700 ;-), but solution

Nah, this dont work for me. Get ftp errors and mysql errors when trying to get the flash files.
Totally useless and a waste of money.

I had the same problem this evening. I went to http://www.davinciteam.com/ instead. There is a later version of the client (Version 10.0). The credits you bought will work from this new client.

While I can see your frustration NOWHERE have I seen any mention to the specific error that I was receiving and that it was because of low battery power.
Point me to a specifice thread and I'll stand corrected. PLus, the directions I have (including those on many anciliary websites pointing to how to do this upgrade and debranding) have you going through many one or two extra steps that the actual Multiserver people ended up telling me weren't necessary.
Save your rants for someone who needs it!

Just tried that one, I do get further ie I can see the files I want to download but when I try to I still get the FTP Error msg.
This is really starting to tick me off now... grrr
