another aspects of comparison...
1.
what about battery lifetime in both phones? which phone can do more (how much?) photos on full to null battery?
2.
W800 have great 'flight mode' or rather screen to select mode. in this way i can turn off almost all functions (again battery lifetime) and have fun only with camera. does K850 and N95 have something like this?

@Raiderski
I somehow doubt anyone is going to just take Picture after to picture to find out for you.
As for Flight Mode it is called Offline Mode on the N95 and all you have to do is press the power button once quickly and press the D pad up twice and then OK to confirm the action.

You are like a crystal ball and have an answer for everything!
The problem with debates like these as these is its all words. Lets all go to the pub and 'duke it out'. Everyone has an opinion (some more than others - aye Dogmann) but opinions dont actually answer anything... the neverending tunnel continues....
My opinion,
N95 - amateur pics 'Glorified' with intense colour saturation.
K850 - amateur pics again, just more true to life colour.
If you want your memories a fun-west end-show, then get an N95. If you want to remember things as they actually were, K850.
If you reeeeeeealy want a good pic, get a camera with optical zoom and focus. This digital focus and zoom will always be 'contraversal' and 100% software driven (unless you put a Carl Zeiss Lens in and claim it makes a difference.)
In my opinion of course....

I really don't get you some one asks a question and i answer it, just what is your problem with that then? is there anything i say you object to or is untrue?
You may not agree with anything i say but then question my opinions and ask me to quantify them when relevant.
But in this thread i have not said a single word about picture quality as i no nothing about photography. All i have done is answer a questions or talked about the many problems a lot of K850 owners seem to have. None of which i have made up and our in evidence on this Forum.
There really is no need to try and take a cheap shot to try and look big is there?

Dont take it personal man. I just see after almost every question is your opinion. Join a survey website or something. In a photo battle, let the pictures do the talkin. Opinions aint worth a dime when the pics are there to see.
When someone wants to do research into what phone to get and they check the forums and find all these opinions everywhere, how could you ever be truly sure you made the right decision? Especially when you are looking at 18 month contracts. This technology world is facts and figures, and in this case, pictures. These types of threads are shunned by most, but if done properly can be really informative for potential users.
Maybe my dig at you is purely my frustration I face when researching phones and also feedback from customers who do the same. All these opinions and nothing else. As I say before, dont take it personal. Its a general dig.

Then SEE and stop talking, will you?
(K850 takes "true-to-life" picture? really? Then your life must be pink )

As i said if you picked a different thread where i was expressing MO fair enough but all i did was answer a simple question, quite simply if you don't like it don't read it.
Also you have no right to tell me what i may or may not do and as you where talking to me and mentioned my name of course i will take it personally otherwise what was the need to mention my name rather than a general comment? Aren't you now guilty of doing the very thing you don't like as none of you posts have anything to do with pictures do they?
Also is it really necessary to quote my whole post when it is already right above your response? many visit Esato on their device or even via WAP please show some consideration for other users and don't quote a whole post unless it is really necessary to make your point.

Sorry officer. Geez, I hit a nerve didnt I. With regards to the copying the whole post thing, Im not the only one who does it as you click reply and it happens. Who am I to edit your 'opinion'? Im more than sure that people knowingly log into these forums via mobile expecting some big posts, especially this one as it contains so many pictures. Hmmmm
In fear I may make you cry again I will leave this alone. Maybe this should have not continued over this thread as it has swayed completely off topic.
Back on topic,
How about those great pictures the K850 takes then! Arent they splendid. I have the reources to compare all the 5 megapixel phones on the market (through Orange anyway) and might just have to post them all. IE; G600, LG Viewty, K850 and N95.
Whats your opinion on me doing that?

Well, today we had a visit from our beloved (cough) Nokia rep who brought in his N95 and N82. As I am a staunch SE fan I asked him to a shoot off (Cue cowboy whislte) and we took some pics from them all and put them on his laptop. Im not one to talk down SE but I would have to say that the N82 was tops - just (hehe). The colours were completely perfect. More 'real' than the K850 and far less 'bubblegum' than the N95. Im hoping that there isnt a new thread starting that compares the K850 to that N82. Man, that would be hard to fight that battle! haha.
Unfortunately I wasnt able to keep his pics. He was being a bit of a wanker in the end (dont blame him really - I bigged-up SE, then he kinda won-ish) but I will ask again in a week when he is feeling better so I can post.
Points to note:
We were under Neon lighting in daylight and there was plenty of Orange colour around so very hard to be sure
I Used "Auto" on K850, but he did use "Auto" too on the Nokias (apparently)

the photos in following comparison clearly and decisively shows K850 photos trailing BEHIND both N95 and N82. Even in darker scene, K850 seems to be only slightly better than N95 and quite a lot behind the N82.
http://www.smape.com/en/reviews/nokia/Nokia_N82-prev.html
So now this another review (adding to a long list) that shows the N95 photos to be better than K850. And our dear friend plankgatan can only find one review in K850 favor but one which we cannot even see the real full size picts So I think we can finally lay this thread to rest since we already reached a conclusion (many times over).

So, being that these digital focus cameras are completely software determined, I am going to hold onto the idea that a new firmware will make the K850 a Nokia slayer! Time will tell... I shudder to think about N82 update firmware... That will be another thread I guess.
c'mon SE! You can do it! We are counting on you to not only defend your mobile technology, but your Sony Camera technology is at stake here too!
