K800 Firmware Overview |

chris (even though that's my name, haha) - Don't mention horse manure about getting a life. We all have one. That stuff has nothing to do with the phone... no offense, though.
I can make calls and do whatever - it's just what I paid for. Five bills for something like this with my call log screwing around isn't what I want.
For those who can live with the bugs - you can just ignore us ranters. You're happy, so just don't pay attention. I'm just slightly unsatisfied with an expensive product.
Anyway, these bugs don't really bother me... I'm just dissapointed at SE for this amount of bugs - which I was trying to say from the last post.
Let's just hope for an update soon.
Edit: Compared my friend's K750i to my K790i today... realized how much big of a diff the K790i is... I've learned to appreciate the upgrade a bit more... haha.

Take a deep breath, my friend, your retaliation to such feedback, however true, is becoming equally distracting.
Advising people to 'get some fresh air' will perhaps do very little in remedying whatever perceived situation there may be.

Thanks heaps for pointing out the knack to storing ringtones on the phone's memory! I was so frustrated that I couldn't find an easy work-around, but you've both helped me immensely. It is a shame that we can't apply this same technique to the read-only 'Greeting' file, as it still shuffles (on my firmware at least), but a vast improvement!
Out of interest - Another minor bug find for verification, and to possibly be added to the list if considered worthy:
When editing a contact, scrolling between name and various numbers affects the positioning of the icons beside the information (they shift up and down, oddly). This could never inconvenience anyone, but I reckon if I were responsible for improving firmware's, it's one of those things that I'd like to hear about.
Another handy feature I just found out:
When setting a new theme, the phone thinks to ask you if you would like to retain the custom wallpaper or not. Thoughtful!

Hey I also have a Q... although not firmware related.
For you people who wear jeans, does putting the K790i / K800 minus a case let dust into the joystick and screen? Anyone experience dust seeping in so far? Thanks. |

I find the joystick gets very dusty easily. Easily cleaned, mind you. Unsure of any performance drawbacks.
My screen has very very minor bits of dust towards the edges. 3 weeks old and a taste of things to come no doubt.
I'd rather use the phone how it's meant to be used, attract a bit of dust, rather than hide it in some kind of case were the beauty of the design is never truly seen.

For the love of all that is electronic, do not keep it in your pants pocket. It is a dust under the screen generator.

Of course you can verify this and provide details. Not saying that you are not honest, but a more convincing post would include info, don't you think?

I can't copy and paste the whole changelog, but of the Esato list of bugs, these are fixed:
- Chinese firmware only - Changing the settings to display a large clock (Settings / Display / Clock Size / Large) causes an extremely small clock to be displayed when using a 24 hour clock. The clock displays correctly when using the 12 hour am/pm time format.
- Selecting 'Settings / Calls / Manage Calls / Accept Calls / Only from list' only blocks those calls whose number is present in the phonebook. All unknown numbers are automatically accepted.
- Key sounds, if enabled, can fail after a period of time (possibly after an alarm has gone off)
- Cannot send emails to some SMTP servers which don't require validation (it appears that the email client tries to send blank login records to the server) |

Do you do anything other than whine and lament about your phone? If it is so terrible, take it back. WE ARE ALL IN THE SAME BOAT HERE WAITING. Man you sound like a very immature individual. Get over it dude.
I am not trying to pick a fight with you but can you give the constant negativity a rest. Trust me I will there right along side of you if this is not resolved in a few weeks time, but I would rather have a bug free patch than a dodgy one. Let SE get it fixed right the first time.
