I got my phone in North America also but it came with firmware from Hong Kong. All of the different firmwares have english as one of the options as well as the other languages. You can usually see what version you have in the same screen as the firmware. (press "> * < < * < *" to get there)
my phone says:
R4DB005

I ran SEUS because my phone kept bugging me to "check for updates" and I didn't have a data plan at the time. When I ran SEUS (to be read, finally got it to work) it actually installed an OLDER firmware onto my phone (what a piece of SH*T). So I used DaVinci to return the newer firmware and at the same time changed the region/language to match where I live. (and then uninstalled everything made or distributed by Sony) |

As expected (based on my phone's eBay seller), my language/region is APAC.
How can I change to America-1? I'm overdue for a firmware update, anyway.

After the last firmware update my phone has been having a new issue.
Phone rarely connects to GPRS service and even if it connects it gets disconnected very soon.
Service provider checked everything at their end and says its a handset issue.
Reset all also dosent work. Any suggestions?
Mean time i am planning to try updating firmware once more
Any one else having same issue? |

honestly I have not updated yet to the new FW since the last time I used SEUS it made my phone unusable gave me White flashing screen good thing wotanserver.com was there to help since I do not have cruiser cables. Anyhow I will just wait for wotan to have the new FW before I update |

hi guys, i just want to share my experience with this phone. i really like it, but after 4 days i bought it (had r4db005) i pressed the walkman button and then the phone reboot itself. after that the screen turned on and off all white,took the batery off, and then turned it on again but the letters didn`t appear, i pressed the left soft key to enter in phone mode, then it looked like it had a software problem, it just showed the signal bar and the part that should be on the bottom of the screen(calls, menu) appear in the upper part. i pressed the menu key and it seems to enter it but no icons where showed, the i press # and it entered the adjustment menu normally, really rare.. i turn it off, removed the batery put it again, and it was the same. did a master resset and it continued the same.. you have to see it to understand. so i took it to the place qhere i bought it. they had my phone for about a week and said that it was a display problem. so i took it to another repair center. they flashed it and it worked. now i have r4ea031. so far no big problems. -fingers crossed- the only problem i have so far was that i was using opera mini, then i minimized it, try to make a call and it rebooted.
this is my first se phone, i like it but i hope i wont have that kind of problems again. i just wanted to share this with you.

i just bought my w810i last week and my FW is R4EA031 ... i tried to save some of my contacts from phone to sim and it won't work. i have to do it manually. do anybody here experience this bug? |
