n73 yes. n93 no (its too big and expencice compared to K800). SO far however, SE have had an edge over Nokia in picture quality and I think same will hold for n73 vs. K800. Never the less, n73 will be a good competitor anyway.

To big being the understatement...the dimensions are monsterous!!
Dimensions
* Volume: 133 cc
* Weight: 180 g
* Length: 118. 2 mm
* Width: 55.5 mm
* Thickness: 28.2 mm
Kinda makes a mockery of calling it a 'mobile' phone. |

After having the first nec 3g phones and the mtot a1000 n93 size doesnt mater to me considering it shoots dvd quality video and has adobe elements editor.
But the k800 isnt even a rival for the n93. the n73 is and i think it could also beat the k800. Its symbian and has greatv video.
And as for picture quality. Nokia had branded autofocus (carl ziess) a long time ago. SE has just got it now with the cybershot brand |

Carl Ziess is a lens manufacturer and has nothing to do with autofocus. A camera is not better than its weakest link. N90 proved that since it does not take better bitcures than e.g. K750, which does not have Carl Ziess.
Carl Ziess is just marketing to make you pay more money for something not providing anything extra. Don't be fooled by that and make wiser choices. |

But the same could be said for the video quality by SE ? Its a compramise with these phones. But you have to admit the phone is pretty good. I mean if size was no objet to you would you not sacrifice some (or no picture quality as no one has seen test pics yet for the n93 or final pics for that matter from the k800) to be able to shoot video which is dvd quality.
Come one, even the most hard SE fans should recognise that this summer they are going to have to really fight to compete with Nokia. |

I only explained your confusion about Carl Ziess. Never said anything about Nokias new phones, so your question did not make any sense to me. But I'm sure the new Nokias are very good.
IMO, since a phone is something I carry on a daily bases (unlike a video recorder), size realy matters (both K800 and N73 pushes the limit and N93 is simply unacceptable). Price is important as well no matter what features it has. I don't pay for a phone, which costs almost as much as a laptop (and looks like one too - N93 that is ).

Well these phones will be the start of camcorder phones. SE plan to go down this road in the near future and along with the new shaprs of handsets, so will peopls perceptions and wants. Im sure when SE release a similar phone it wont be any smaller than the k800.
This movie is made with a N73.

Does anyone else see though here, that the only real thing people are concerned about since the release of details about k800 and the nokia rivals, that it is simply down to video recording.
The way i see it, nokia have nothing over sony ericsson on the features front, other than the fact that the video recording on the k800 is poor in comparison.
If se would just put there finger out and improve the video on k800 to at least 25fps 320X , there would be no arguments...no reason to step away and create a dilema between k800 and a nokia rival, it would be a simple desicion; k800 every time

Now you cant make an assumption like that until both phones have been tested together in different environments. Your also forgetting the the nokia is a smart phone and is the most recent symbian edition which is somthing thet SE have only just implemented in the w950.
