I need some help here, last night I lost power because of a storm while I was on my Mac Mini, after the power came back I can't get on the internet, I tried resetting the cable modem checked and changed ethernet cables and nothing happend, under network settings it tells me that I'm connected to the internet via buitin ethernet and I get the correct ip address, but I can't load any web pages. I know the modem is ok since I have an internet phone connected to it and that works fine, I also tried to connect to a wi-fi router with my cable modem and that works fine with Mini airport.
I appreciate any help, I don't know if any settings got messed up because of power outage or I've got a bad ethernet port eventhough it shows that it's working.

Jools, you're obviously an expert in these matters, so please explain to me the difference between this:
http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20050731124746116
and this:
http://mobile.feisar.com/addressbook.html
I'm not trying to dis on your product. I'm just curious what your product offers beyond what's given in the above tip.
Keep up the good work - your advice, combined with and Apple functionality over , help keep me true to both brands
And while I have your attention, since you're a fan of both Apple and , please chime in here. Thanks!

The MacOSXHints tip doesn't work fully for newer SonyEricsson phones. SE changed the AT commands some time back, which meant that the answering a call, or sending a caller to VoiceMail buttons didn't work if you tried that tip. SMS functions still worked however.
My product is basically a much simpler method of implementing these changes. I used to have step-by-step manual instructions on my site for doing this. But, even though I'd made it as simple as possible, it was still too technical and tricky for many people to manage. I was getting dozens of emails from people who had inadvertently messed up their Address Book application, by wrongly following the instructions!
So, I decided to implement all the required modifications for all (40+) unsupported phones, package it into a fool-proof Mac installer and offer it on my site. It also comes with a simple uninstaller, and an application I developed for resetting the phone currently paired with Address Book (something Apple doesn't provide.)

Yeah, I wondered about the non-functional buttons like "Answer."
Sounds like good work. I'll have to look into it.

So, 10.4.9 is now out... lellobello reports that iSync has been updated to v2.4, which natively adds support for K800, K790, and K610. And what's this about USB sync support?
Anyway, good news for iSync. Now, what about Address Book? Are the rest of the "newer" (post-K700) phones better supported yet? Or do we still need JoolsG4's plug-ins for full functionality (i.e. SMS and call management)?
BTW, does this mean OS X Leopoard is about to be released? Recall that the 10.3.9 update became available right when Tiger 10.4 hit the shelves.

On a different note - I've come to the conclusion that my Bluetooth Mighty Mouse just doesn't work right with my G4 iMac (running OS X 10.4.8 and with update applied).
It started with this. In short, I had problems with external drive (USB thumb drives, USB memory card readers, LaCie Firewire drives) mounting and I/O. After exhausting all other options, we reinstalled OS X. Everything was fine until recently...
Now the problem has come back. There have been no recent hardware or software changes to explain it. I thought there weren't any last time, either. Then I remembered: last time, we hadn't long before (about a month or so) replaced our USB mouse with Apple's Mighty Mouse.
This mouse has always been a tad glitchy, from day one. For example, if I left my USB memory card reader attached and powered-on the computer, the computer's module would turn itself off and remain that way, until a reboot was performed with the card reader removed. Just like what is reported here (it says G5 iMacs, but applied to our G4). Also, file transfers between the computer and my W810 used to be flawless; after the addition of this mouse, such transfers required a few retries.
I think the continuous operation with this mouse is somehow sporadically interfering with all other external I/O. It's not a software issue, since a complete OS X reinstall didn't permanently eliminate the problem. It's not a hardware issue, as revealed by 6 hours' worth of looping the extended Apple Hardware Test. We've since boxed the mouse and reattached the USB one... file transfers are again perfect, and so far, there are no FireWire or USB problems.
I can't say if this is G4 iMac-specific. I'll let those bright boys in Cupertino figure that one out, upon reading my bug report. In the meantime, beware!

Unfortunately, Mac OS X 10.4.9 did not update the Address Book application at all, so hacks or the 'Sony Ericsson Address Book Enabler' are still required.
iSync support was added for the K800, K790, K610 and Z525.
However iSync Phone Plugins are still required for these models:-
Sony Ericsson K320
Sony Ericsson K510
Sony Ericsson K550
Sony Ericsson K618
Sony Ericsson K810
Sony Ericsson W300
Sony Ericsson W610
Sony Ericsson W700
Sony Ericsson W710
Sony Ericsson W850
Sony Ericsson W880
Sony Ericsson Z610
Sony Ericsson Z550
Sony Ericsson Z710
Sony Ericsson Z558
Sony Ericsson V630
All of which are available from http://mobile.feisar.com/

Nokia 8800 doesn't work with Address Book out-of-the-box - you need to patch the Address Book app.
