@786KBR: I guessed right...you're secretly harbour feelings for Manure...I mean why won't you support them in the European competition? I'll be the first to admit that Arsenal haven't played the flowing football they're renowned for but under the circumstances, where one small mistake can cost you everything, I can understand their defensive tactics last night.
You might also have noticed that there was only one English player in team last night for Arsenal, a shame to some.

I thought there'd be a very happy Gooner in this thread today.
Those Amstels must have gone down very well, brixster.
What do you guys think of the 3 new N-series handsets launched?

Have you noticed the massive dimensions of the N93?

@da wanqsta: Indeed they went down, well. Got up early this morning because whatever happened it could only be beautiful day.
I'm contemplating getting a N70 on contract from Vodacom...having seen the N73 I'm not put off apart from the fact that it comes with a 3.2mp cam...the design is basically the same unless Nokia invented something new in the few months that the N70 has been out.

My buddy in Singapore made a very similar comment, Wanqa, regarding the dimensions of those phones. I have to agree, that's pretty hefty... I jokingly mentioned one of my first phones to him, the 2110i. With extended life battery Man oh man, what a hefty brick that was!! I'm positive one could comfortably brain a fleeing villain with it and still make a call afterwards
I'm not superstitious, merely mildly stitious. |

Yeah, quite possibly!
Would you believe that there is an eBay shop called Retrofone selling four of those bricks NEW?! Check it out:

Jeez brad, what's wrong with you? I'll be the first to admit that the Gunners will go into the final as underdogs, some people might even think they don't stand a snowball's chance in hell. That's why we dream.
@da wanqsta: The thing that puts me off buying old phones, even if I'm feeling nostalgic, is the fact that getting support is nigh impossible. I'd like to own a R380 but if the touchscreen goes wonky who do I run to? My experience with the T39m as noted here on the forum put me off these phones even though I almost got tempted to buy a T600 some months later.

@ da brixsta,
Yup, that is a limiting factor re older handsets. I nearly bought 2 brand new R380's off eBay late last year, going for £27.99 each. However, the thought of trying to hunt down batteries et al at a later date for these was somewhat off-putting.
Having said that, the SE service centres around here are generally good, so to that extent..:
(Taken with my Nokia 3230)
The urge to obtain an iconic SE classic in totally brand new, unused state in all its aluminium glory was too much to resist; bought on eBay for only £33:
This will make another nice spare/ back-up phone in da wanqsta's phone collection...
In other news, did you hear that Snoop and his entourage were arrested at Heathrow? Apparently, due to their behaviour, they were not permitted into one of the terminal's 1st class lounges. He then started smashing whiskey bottles in a duty-free shop. The police were called in and an impromptu Royal Rumble between the 2 parties was the result.
PS: So it's the Ronaldhino v/s Henry grudge-match for the Finals, then. |

Snoop is supposed to perform in Jozi tonight...don't know how that will happen if he's still held up in one of those cells at Heathrow. I'm going to his concert on Monday.
Was never really a fan of the T610 but 33 quid is a steal...I think the Service Centres support all the from the T68i onwards...the most important for me being firmware upgrades.

@da wanqsta: What's the deal with the PoPo in the UK? I read the story and from reports, it doesn't seem too serious...no-one seemed to have waved a toy gun around. Getting angry at an airport terminal is normal when you've been on a 10 hour flight from LA only to have a couple of white folks telling you that you can't come into a first-class lounge.
Basically what I'm asking is what's the worst thing that could happen because if that concert gets cancelled tonight people are going to be pissed off like crazy because it's been sold-out for weeks now.

@ da brixtsa,
I found the police action wrt this incident rather heavy-handed, but then it's not maybe entirely fair for me to formulate an overall opinion, as I don't know all the facts as to what led to such drastic actions.
Usually there's a few sides to a story etc....
However, 3 things, I believe, are fair to say:
1. Firstly, if Snoop and co were refused entry into the lounge purely on the grounds that they were perhaps loud, raucous or worse still, that their admission into the lounge would not have met universal 'approval' from the usual 'upper-class' clientele, then I have a major problem with such discrimination.
2. It goes without saying that a certain amount of common sense and self-restraint, irrespective what kind of flight one has had, would be expected at big international airports, particularly in these times when security is on such a very high level of alert. Again, I am not saying that this was the case with this incident as we do not know all the facts, rather just stating obvious protocol.
3. Particularly in (usually) very politically-correct London, the Metroplitan Police and the Transport Police have been trying very hard to rid themselves of any biased treatment to different poulation groups and races with huge ethnic minority recruitment campaigns, firing and pressing charges on any officers for racially-related misconduct etc.
This is a far cry from catalysts that caused the uprisings in Brixton in south London in April 1981 etc.
How much progress they have made is again hotly debatable, but many people from the different communities living in the UK feel that cops on the street nowadays are (generally) too leniant at times, especially due to all the laws protecting the general public.
Certainly more tolerance than cops state-side, who have greater zero-tolerance tendencies in general.
However, cops here WILL be far more zero-tolerance orientated in places imminently at risk to terrorist attacks, such as international airports, train stations, etc. That goes without saying and is, to a relative extent, understandable.
I'm not defending either here, just trying hard to be devils' advocate.
But I do feel that, judging on the little facts I know, it could have been resolved with less fuss and fan-fair, especially if there is all these concert arrangements in place...and a lotta unhappy fans back home ready to take their angst and frustrations out...not that the Pom cops would be too bothered with this perhaps.

They all should've lighted a big fat blunt instead of trying to fight with 5-O because you never win, especially at an airport as massive Heathrow where they take their security seriously.

LMAO brixsta,
Yeah, and we all know what do-do The Dogg has been in just for the possession of The Weed of Wisdom in good ol' US of A.
Still, can you imagine the looks of all the other 1st class lounge people if he and his entourage were allowed into the lounge, and then they all decided to light up a few spliffs between them while waiting for their Jozi flight... it would've been priceless!!
