In Camberley, the Bonny's Cafe near the Sony Centre (also close to Argos) seems to have a very strong Belkin router nearby. The P990 works well with it, but my old Nokia 9500 always struggled.

In theory no difference at all (apart from the obvious one of a EU plug on the charger for privately imported EU models), but the key differentiator is probably the CDA string which may or may not limit availability of firmware updates.
Mine (and AFAIK all of us who got them early from Expansys) has a CDA of 162007/1 which equates to a generic world phone.
I know however that some phones which appear to have been purchased in Belgium must have a different CDA as they have not had access to the latest updates.
In general though, I have never had any issues with getting SEUS updates for SE phones bought from Expansys. |

I'm having a problem now connecting to the P990 via the cable after updating the Phonesuite. Do I need to install all the drivers again? |

hi just thought id mention with all the bad comments that have been going round that i love my P990i and would recommend that any one thinking of getting one to get one.
I have read things like peoples P990i badge being stuck on wonky - mine was fine.
Phone keeps crashing - i have been using mine for 3 days now and havent had any problems the phone seems nice and quick.
The battery life seems great and no faults on the f/w as yet.
Only thing i havent worked out how to work is the wifi.
Probably wont help anyone but i thought i would mention that i love the phone and glad i waited. |

You have mentioned about the EU p990i have a different code, limiting or unlimiting it to firmware updates. Does that mean some of the ones expansys sells could not be updated with the latest firmware?
And what is the website for the firmware updates?
I would appreciate it if u can reply to this, Thanx!! |

I'm trying to connect WiFi on my P990i, but my router uses MAC Address Filtering. When I click the MAC Address option in my phone it lists the MAC address as blank, can anyone help on this?

For me I just scanned and found the WI-FI network. After that I hit connect and I have no issue whatsoever. Thsi should be no different that conncetin a any PC. I also get a Mac address with actual numbers, never used that though. And I am also able to use the order in whihch to access the net without issues. So yes, I was able to connect via WI-FI to secured and non-secured networks.
