@siraaj: In Cape Town there are quite a couple of Pakistani-owned shops that mostly specialise in housings...from what I've seen, although I haven't seen any K750's, it shouldn't cost more than say R200 which quite reasonable- I think.

Went to check out some of the new exhibits at London's Imperial War Museum this afternoon, namely Lawrence of Arabia,

On the one hand it was quite something seeing famous artefacts in the flesh, but on the other hand the sickening evidence and items in some of the exhibits really hit home.
One is 'greeted' by 2 imposing, colossal 15" naval battleship cannons at the entrance of the museum.
Hitler's V1 and V2 terror weapons fortunately arrived too late to prolong the inevitable outcome of WW2..
...and a certain tank that changed tank thinking and design philosophy forever, and which helped stem the tide at the biggest tank battle ever in history, at Kursk (yes, that's where that ill-fated Russian nuclear sub got its name from), the venerable T-34... flanked by Mrs. Amawanqa.
Taken with the SPV C550:
Spitfire in the foreground and German Heinkel He 162 Salamander (nick-named Volksjager) in the background. The latter plane is still in the Guiness Book of Records for taking only 6 months from initial design to first flight, during the final chaotic year of the Third Reich. It hardly saw service due to chronic fuel shortages by the time it became operational.
Arguably the best piston-engined fighter of all time, the P-51 Mustang...
Ah, the Exocet missile...made (in)famous during the Falklands War when one of these French-designed missiles was fired from an Argentinian jet and delivered a fatal blow to HMS Sheffield.
I took no pics in the last 2 exhibits that I initially mentioned; it was deeply disturbing seeing some of the stuff for real, ie. one of Josef Mengele's dissecting tables from one of the clinics where atrocities were performed on anyone regarded as untermensch, artefacts from Auschwitz, Dachau, et al, the terrible findings in Rwanda, Kosovo, etc. etc.
Irrespective of what faith people have (or not), one can only hope and pray that we learn from our mistakes, but when we keep seeing atrocious acts still being carried out on our fellow humans in this day and age, it's really kinda disheartening and seems to add more validity to Freud's theories...
Not easy being very optimistic when exposing one's self to stuff like this, but hey, life's what we make of it...
...and to that extent I wish you all a Happy Easter if you are celebrating/recognising Easter.

Great post there wanqsta. Hope exhibits like these teach our present and future leaders how destructive a fundementalist ideology can be. I'm also off to a museum today to check out some of the works of Picasso which had been inspired by Africa.

Checked out the Picasso exhibition with my nephew about an hour ago, it was interesting since I've never had an interest in his art.
Unfortunately I didn't manage to take pictures with my P910. If you're in Cape Town sure do make a to check it out.

Nice of you to drop in here again.
BTW, congrats to India for their 5-1 trouncing over England in the ODI series.
Yuvraj Singh deserved that man-of-the-series award, and it was good to see mutual respect shown by both sides for each other; he even made mention of the obvious runner-up to the award, SA ex-pat Kevin Pietersen.
Sreesanth was simply brilliant today; he seems to have emphatically cemented himself in the Indian team.

We've got tomorrow off as well, but back to work on Wednesday.
About some of the museums here; I've been a few times to The London Dungeon with friends over the years and although this is a macabre, somewhat morbid collection of all things torture or execution-related from medieval to French Revolution, it's shock-horror undertone and 'live acts' and odd role-play interaction in some of the parts of the tour purposefully makes it more 'palatable' to a wider audience.
However, the I.W. Museum's far more serious focus on these horrors inflicted on our fellow humans really hits home.
On the one hand one can marvel at the huge technological advances made during times of war,out of necessity, but at the end of the day we know that they all share a common goal: to destroy the 'enemy', our fellow human beings, either because of clashing ideologies, power and/or greed.

Like da krypsta, I wish everyone had a safe long-weekend. I'm thinking about Ashanti (the RnB singer) who lost her cousin on our roads this past weekend because of a 17 year-old drunk who stole his mother's car.
A special mention once again goes out to da wanqsta for his good posts, although this is mainly a mobile discussion thread we get way off topic when news on new developments are thin.
