Bummer.
Oh well, thanks anyway for clarifying.

Can you believe Moto; they are 'launching' another version of the V3i by giving it iTunes (don't they learn...?) and a reddish anodised colour to identify it as such.
O2's website is now giving an additional incentive for people to buy their stockpiles of under-selling PEBL and SLVR handsets. They are now giving a free DVD recorder with every PEBL or free portable DVD player with every SLVR PAYG handset sold!

Those guys who are following the JZ circus may find these sites illuminating....

http://www.2oceansvibe.com where the editor, Seth Rotherham, has some hilarious views, and

http://www.friendsofjz.co.za/ where the opposite view enjoys support.
I'm not superstitious, merely mildly stitious.

You know, the best/worst part is - only a year or so ago this was the 'sure' candidate to become the next South African president ! ! ! Mind you - it won't suprise me if he might still become one. This is the adventurous Africa after all, with all sorts of surprises facing you after each and every corner of a twisted bush road. A german buddy of mine just come back from Zim last weekend. I refrain of making any comments regarding his stories. Needles to say I sincerely hope SA will be better of after 26 years of liberation. Greetings from Jeffrey's . Mario.

Damn, my gf is also looking to buy a SLVR...it's still relatively expensive and MTN is only offering it on contract(something she hates).

@da krypsta and mario: I think the whole JZ issue is getting boring. Just to clarify, most of the people supporting JZ aren't really his fans but are opposed to the "centre" of the ANC and specifically Thabo Mbeki and his economic policies.

Cheapest SLVR that I've seen sim-free here(Carphone Warehouse stock) is £129.99 (approx R1400), if one selects an Orange SIM to go with it.

Played around with a W810 in the local CPW store this afternoon. Beyond me why they didn't put a protective slide over the camera lens a la W800 et al. Such a damn nice-looking phone otherwise.
Also saw the blinged-out chrome D600; ideal for those Ali G wannabe's or those who would find the reflective nature of the fascia ideal for squeezing pimples and blackheads while away from any conventional mirror.

@786KBR: Is that inclusive of the starterpack? Does the SLVR come with Moto's new UI, if it's that old antiquated thing then it's not worth the hype.

Guys on Vodacom I don't know whether you have noticed this, Vodacom seems to have blanket coverage of HSDPA in the cities, especially Cape Town city centre...in my building(Media 24's Cape Town HQ) my cellphone display reads: "3G&HSDPA&EDGE enabled".

@786KBR: If you're using your K750 it should be in your "Messages" sub-menu...Now just go into it and tick the "area info" circle...should be too complicated.

No, I'm not a Muslim but it's good thing to say "God Willing" because you don't know what might happen to you in the future...so yes, I would like to get the K800 but I can't say for certain that I will get it...it all depends on circumstance.

No sooner do I mention Carphone Warehouse's SLVR price yesterday and now they'll throw in free £10 (approx R110) calltime credit as well as of today, thus it's still at £129.99 sim-free,inclusive of sim pack and £10 airtime!

Will be in Jozi next week, definitely will make time to visit Vodaworld...just saw a cheap ass Motorola V1050 going for R1000 including starterpack...ok, it doesn't come with but apart from that the features on the phone look mighty impressive.
