hellOoo people! lOoong time since I've been here.
But I have reasons:
1) Gr.11&Cambridge A-Levels is SO DAMN BUSY!
2) dunnOoo... the telecoms doesn't actually interests me anymore, as I always did
.... well I REALLLLLLLLLLLY hOoope telkom speeds adsl & lowers price and diminishes the cap(damn telkOoom!)... but YAY! to voda for hdspa
how are you all?
Recently in the UK, I saw all the new gOoody services all the Mobile-Telecom over there has.
Orange: Magic numbers!!!! this is sOoo cOool! why can't vodacom give us here magic numbers as well! and other stuff is the(a copy from vodafone) talk for 60min pay for only one!
Back here! in SA: How can MTN say they have first released HSDPA? NO connect cards! No plans! No nothing on their website! and their 3G, don't even talk about HSDPA, reception sucks! compared to voda. Voda is the first on the African continent, didn't they first experiment with the technology here, didn't they first have a Beta stage, didn't they made it first commercial to use?!
Oh... and I've seen voda also caught up with the EDGE... not that it matters.
Just an NB to all! especially Brix(sorry mate), I've been browsing brix's replies and most he uses vodaPHONE!!!(please tell us why you say it this way? and I know you're anti-vodafone, hehe) please its vodaFONE!!! danke schoen
well.... chat later again!
oh... O_o ... I was just wonderin' if anyone is gay here? I am! And proud!
+a+a till later
(wow...)

@slsssl: Welcome back mate, If I spelled it Vodaphone, my apologies. Honestly I don't care for them unless they come out with something useful.
Played around with my sister's D600 today...its nice but not for, it's best feature is it's video capture which is cool but not quite as good as the W900.

Good to have you back in this SA cellphone cyberspace sanctum, sIssIs!
About the above quote, a small nit-picky correction: you pay for the first 3 minutes (whoop-de-do!) to speak off-peak with Vodafone to landlines and other Vodafone customers, not 1 minute.
If you follow some of the recent threads on esato about Orange, they have changed much of their pricing and tarriffs, and have very quietly introduced charging for sms delivery reports.
Looks like I'll be using Orange even less now...

@ da brixsta,
Not sure if you saw the English Premiership scores;
Rooney being the main protagonist and catalyst in ManUre's 2-0 victory over Arsenal...
while Abramovich's Army keeps marching on, hammering The Hammers 4-1.
Still only 7 points' difference in the title race then...
Oh, and a big congrats to Bangladesh for giving the Aussie cricketers such a run for their money today; 355 for 5 on day 1. |

@ama
yeah i know you only pay for the first three minutes and then the other is free, but with orange you only pay for the first minute and the rest up to 60 minutes is free.
Well... delivery reports isn't the worst right? And orange does have good service, nice company, nice campaigns&ads, love them!
Just a weird thing: ... in the UK and anywhere else my fav mobile companies are Vodafone and orange.
By chance vodafone and orange was the same company (this was only for a few months)... but I still think the world would be better if they became one company, in my eyes they are... and in the UK I use them both.
hehe
@brix(form earlies posts)
Tonight I've also witnessed the "3G&HSDPA ENABLED" on my mobile... in the little known dorpie Grabouw Elgin.
+a+a
(ive watched carte blance tonight and I just can't believe how our justice system is NOT doing it work at the telecoms and on the roads...and other regions... I just can't believed it

Ah, but the catch with Orange regarding this is that you can only add ONE 'magic number' (ie. best pal or girlfriend or whoever) per 6-month window.
http://shop.orange.co.uk/shop[....]usives?WT.mc_id=ora06038_sp_15
Still, 15p for an hour to the person you call the most is peanuts, so I'd agree that it is a great idea.
BTW, did you notice that Orange charge 35p to call other networks during peak times?
As I argued the point with fellow esatonian fatreg, Orange do have good service but so do MOST of the others( I wouldn't say all, particularly not '3' and Vodafone UK,from my personal experiences and many on this site if you do a few searches around here).
I have had contracts and dealings with O2 (2 contracts), T-Mobile (1 contract) and Orange (1 contract.)
I have used ALL of the following UK PAYG networks:
1. Orange (for the freebies incl. Orange Wednesdays)
2. Vodafone (stop-the-clock promotion)
3. Tesco (CHEAPEST flat rate, together with Easymobile and Mobile World)
4. T-Mobile (Mates Rates)
5. CPW's Mobile World (CHEAPEST overseas cellphone calls and same flat rate as Tesco and Easymobile for local calls. CPW's other network,Fresh, is the same tarriff/s as Mobile World, but without the cheap international calling options.)
6. Virgin, who I don't currently use but IMHO their customer service is even better than Orange's. (and I was with them for nearly 2 years.)
7. O2 genie PAYG online: top up with £10 and get 100 minutes x-net
Now, I personally couldn't give a monkey's about clever or glossy advertising, or for supposedly better mannerisms from the very odd time that I need to phone customer services. I want maximum bang for buck.
An example:
Tesco Value (they have a roaming agreement with O2) peak calls to other networks (flat rate): 15p and sms 5p
http://www.tescomobile.com/tariff.aspx
Same for Easymobile:
https://www.easymobile.com/se[....]emcontent/services/prices.html
..and Mobile World (although 7p texts):
http://www.carphonemobileworl[....]ICLE=TARIFF.LOCAL&NODE_ID=7647
Orange peak calls to other networks:35p and sms 10p
http://shop.orange.co.uk/shop/payasyougo/plans?WT.svl=406
..and so we can go on, ie. with O2's online pricing etc.
You do the maths...

Maybe not, but it's certainly not gonna persuade people further to join, particularly if they have tried to do this stealthily, which was picked up by a few eagle-eyed esato members.
Oh well, if you're happy with them, that's great; but my loyalty lies with the network that gives me the most, far above any form of network loyalty.

Just to chip in I've got no loyalty to amy particular network as long as they've got affordable data rates, good coverage and flexible call plans.

@786KBR: I was referring to it's video capture capabilities as opposed to that of the D600.

@ da brixsta,
I see news24 have a dedicated Zuma quotes page; some quotes had me on my knees with laughter...

My nephew bought the Panasonic VS6 from me, as his spare phone (T68i) was playing-up; corrosion on the circuit board due to water damage.
I'm not gonna replace the VS6 just yet;will see what's on the horizon over the next few weeks. |

@da wanqsta: He's inflicted so much damage on his credibility that for him the fight now revolves around staying out of jail even if it means saying stupid things. The judge might have compassion for this this stupid mampara and let him off, so his defense team hopes.

@ brix,
Some time ago you mentioned that you had seen a new SE T600 in a shop in CT. Obviously they have been discontinued for some time and they rarely appear on eBay,so I'm keen to find out if the shop has any left for sale.
Is there any chance of finding out if they still have new stock of these, or could you obtain the shop's phone number by any chance?
I'm after at least 2 of them, as long as they are brand new.
Tks. |

Sorry mate, can't help u there. Although the phone seemed brand new it seems that's been reconditioned. I've been into the particular shop and they don't have any stocks of the T600 left.
